I'm going to post this in the Charger section since it relates to my charger...
It seems as though the world is going more and more towards 17"wheels as the (standard). as well they should, its the perfect balance between not so much rubber that there is sideways movement, and enough meat so bumps, potholes, et cetera do not damage the wheel and destroy the tire.

However, it was only a few years ago when every possible and imaginable size of 15" tire was available from 245's to 315's in any ratio and nearly every speed, traction, and tread wear rating... now I have trouble finding a single one.

More than likely I'm looking in the wrong place.. I want to be able to drive my car, so M/T cheater slicks, and BFG drag radials are not the best option. I don't want to spend 15 seconds at every green light letting off my gas, not touching the throttle and waiting for traction in the rain.

Where did all those cheap tires go? And where does one buy them now?

been there, they have two sizes available, 275-60-15 and 295-50-15, and both are either M/T or BFG drags and expensive.
Summitracing has a larger selection, but not by much.

It used to be I could take my pick of:
275-40-15,275-50-15,275-60-15
and all of the same for 285,295,305, and 315 with numerous brands, treadwear, ratings, et cetera.... now nothing.

I hear you...

I had to buy a new front tire for my Charger a little while ago, 15" wheel, and only one place in town, the last one I called, had the tire size I needed in stock - I think it was a 235 or 245 60/15.

Everyone else in town had to order the tire. It wasn't that hard getting one a couple of years before! I don't have any recommendation for you except to call around town - or switch to the 17" wheels!

Sometimes it sucks owning a unique car!

FWIW I've always had good luck finding a GoodYear or Goodrich tire to suit my needs. Good luck.

You could run 16" rims and make your life easier.  There's tons of classic-looking rims made for them these days.  What that size lacks in hi-po tire models, it more than makes up for it in everyday cruising tire options.

Tires are even harder to find if you want raised white lettering. 15" 16" or otherwise.  I would really like Firestones but they don't even make a 245/60/15 for the front - you have to go with the more narrow 235 or wider 255.  The 255 is slightly taller than a 295/50 would be in back...  In which case a 275/50 would probably be perfect but they're pretty much nowhere to be found either.  Its bullshit.

Try finding 14" tires for your Charger!!!   :brickwall:   I pretty much have one option.  BFGoodrich Radial T/A's.
Or my other option is to buy new rims, then i'm out another $1000++++   :brickwall:

235/60/14 Firestones are on my car now.  They seem like a good size for 14" but I'm looking to replace those eventually.

Firestone Firehawk Indy 500 Tires come in a bunch of different 15 and 14 sizes.
They're a decent tire.

Sounds like I need to try my local tire shops...

The last time I actually took my car to a shop, rather than putting my cars on jacks, pulling all 4 wheels and taking them there to be done; the experience pretty much went....

Hi, in my hand is a torque wrench for you to use, it is already set at the proper torque setting, if you would like help understanding how to use this I will be happy to assist, but if I hear an air tool used on my wheel lugs this torque wrench is going where the sun don't shine...

Every time I let any shop touch my car they always happen to have the unique ability to break something, wheel studs for example.
