My driver side brake light is not working.  Everything on it works, turn signal, reverse light and both tail light bulbs.  The problem is when you step on the brakes, it doesn't get brighter. Changed my tail lights to the '72 style because I got a complete rear bumper assembly, but I was having this problem before I changed them.  What could be causing this?

Thanks!

Maybe an issue in the turn signal switch??? The brake circuit does go through there... :shruggy:

Agree....have someone step on brake while engine is running and move turn lever from side to side...note when and if any brake lights come on

brake light and turn signals use the same filiment in the bulb. the parking lights use the other filiment. So if the ground to the light is good and the turn signal works on that light the problem is in the turn signal switch.

I guess you have hazzards too.

if everything is working, but JUST brakes, mostly sure is column turn switch. By default, the white wire coming from brake pedal switch and the brown and dark green wires are linked inside the turning switch on turn switch rest position to keep continuity when you hit the brakes power.

we can discard wiring and tail lights sockets and bulbs since all those parts are shared with hazzards and turning functions
