71 Rallye Dash with tach.  Temp gauge is inop.  I had it checked and the guy said the gauge was bad.  Is there not a sending unit for this model?  He said there was none.  Thanks!
Most of your life should be "off the record."

yes sending units are available all around... vans autosalvage is one of the best priced sellers and closer to original specs ( metallic strap and brass floater ) I got mine in less than $60. To be perfect matched with original, would require to have the 45º angled outlet. They are straight. Not even Mopar replacement units are angled and they are plastic floater with a wire instead the strap ( and pricey... around $120 )

I got a good and perfect working unit from vans, plug and play... some ppl has got same units, maybe from other vendors and they need to be slightly adjusted.

Temp or fuel gauge?  :shruggy: How did your guy check to see that the gauge is actually bad? IF the gauge is bad then it may be repairable. IF the sending unit is bad then there are sending units available at most parts houses. There are a few items to check with a manual and dvom before throwing parts at the car.

Well....i don't know why he told you this, but there IS a sending unit.  How else is the gauge going to get a reading?  It has to be done either mechanically, or electronically.  If there is something I'm missing....someone please correct me.

Damn! I understood FUEL gauge!!! sorry!!!!!

yes there is a temp sending unit, just right at the water pump housing. It looks like a small screw coming out from. Must get a violet wire. You can ground that wire and check if temp needle moves. If not, is wire, terminals/plugs, or gauge itself related

senders are available all around.
