OK I'm finally getting around to doing the A/C box from my '69.

I have it all apart but am not sure how to get the plastic fan off of the blower motor.  I did a search and all I can find is that it is some type of spring clip nothing that really explains how to remove it without breaking something.

So any tips on how to remove the fan would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Kyle

Hello Kyle
Here's what i can tell you. My 69 is a non-A/C car but when I restored my heater box the fan is held in place by a small allen head screw. I used some PB Blaster on the motor shaft and let it soak overnight. I removed the allen screw and gently rocked the fan while pulling it upwards and it slid right off. Your fan clearly looks different than my non-A/C fan but I don't see any spring clip in your pictures. Maybe its missing? Try some PB and see if it helps. It looks like a clip of some sort lived on the plastic collar of your fan cage at some point. Also, mark the motor shaft where the fan collar sits this way you won't mount the fan to high or to low during reassembly. Good luck.

It should pull right off.  It may be stuck on there and if so go ahead and gently pry it off.  The only thing retaining it is the clamp.

Alright guys thanks alot I will probably spray a little wd40 on her and let her sit until tom and then yank her off.

Oh and is there suppose to be some type of clip to hold it onto the blower motor???

Thanks again

same than the hoses, spring kind.

Like the overflow cap hoses clamps... well your car doesn't have the bottle.

the small radiator hose at a side of the cap maybe ?
