Curtis, I can't wait to hear that 383 run!  :2thumbs: :2thumbs: :2thumbs: :2thumbs: :2thumbs:

You know we both have virtually identical engine specs with the same Crower cam. Although I went with Diamond Racing pistons because I think you got the last Speed Pro .30> over pistons left on this planet!  Do you remember me searching for them?

My motor is still shrink wrapped because of my ongoing basement project :eek2:  After the basement's done, ...the Coronet should be ready for some super tuning at Norwalk (hopefully by September). :drool5:

Yes, what a miserable mess. But thank God someone out there makes them, even though it's a custom deal. What carb are you going to run, do you know yet?

Have you seen Jonesy lately?  He's like you, lost a bunch of weight.  Looks real good.

He was at our last Pizza Barron show & his (wife?) was with him.

Actually, yes. I was over at TFC platers on Johnson Creek Blvd. the other day and stopped in to see if he was around. Just went by his house and got lucky that he happened to be outside. Didn't recognize him at first but we ended up talking for 45 minutes (well, he did :D). North American Muscle cars is in that area too.

Now that's a pair that'll talk your ear numb, Jonesy & Steve Miles.

It seems Mopar folk like to talk.  My wife just says I'm a good listener.  ;)

I stopped by to see Steve around that time too but he was on his way to deliver a car so I talked to his employee for a while. There was a '69 Charger and a '70 Challenger in his shop among other things. Yea, Steve can talk but if there was a contest I think Jonesy would put him to shame.

Things are kind of slow now but I got the wiper motor painted and installed with the restored resistor.

Which ones are you talking about? The only "fender plates" I bought were the front splash shields because one was MIA and the other was all bent up. And I purchased a couple of those access hole covers too. :shruggy:

More than likely I got them from Megaparts. Their prices are always competitive but their shipping is fair, unlike most of the other places.

Been busy working on the back end of the Charger for a while now. Had the rear axle rebuilt and I painted it, I bought new brake lines and new leaf springs (disassembled and painted one of them today), and today it was nice out so I wheeled the car outside and redid the undercoating under the rear 3/4 of the car. That sounds like a quick job but I've been prepping the underside for the last couple of weeks for this one day without rain. Basically everything under the back end of the car is rebuilt or being replaced and will be going back together over the next few weeks.

As you can see I forgot to ask the shop for the driveline yoke so I could paint it too. :P Seems like there's always something that gets missed.

bull

A few before/after undercoating shots. Also, forgot to mention that I replaced the shock mount crossmember seen below because the original was cracked in spots and some of the mounting holes were egged out badly. Two friends were nice enough to bring their wire feed over to my house and help me weld some thick washers around the mounting holes and install the piece for the price of a case of beer. Actually they didn't want anything but I thought the beer was the least I could do.

Car is looking good! What type of undercoating do you use?  :popcrn:

RestoRick's stuff. I barely had enough and if it weren't for the little I had left from before I wouldn't have made it. I literally sprayed the last spot of metal with the last few drops of undercoating.

Hello Bull, you have come a long way with your project.  It is going to be one of the best and the 4 speed is going to make it stand out and perform great.  It has been a long time since I did anything with my Charger or any of my toys.  I do own them but that may change.  I have the Tic Toc Tac that I bought a few years ago from 8Wheeler as part of the NOS dash on ebay.  I am trying to get $450 for it and feel that that is a good price.  On ebay I am "ron483".  I need to move some parts and things that I will never use.

It has been so long since I was on this site that the "Since Your Last visit" post was over 150 pages.  It was good to see you are still active. I also saw a picture of my old 67 Coronet a post or two back.  It is still looking great.  I think that the owner is Tufcat or something like that.

See ya,
Ron

Glad you're back, Ron. :2thumbs: I saw some of that TT1 green yesterday while doing the undercoating.

I think I'm going to give it a coat of paint before the tank goes in. It's in good shape and all the small amount of surface rust has been treated. Had I undercoated it, like I was thinking about doing, I wouldn't have had enough for the rest.
