Well, I always said I'd have to get a deal on an E-Body IF I ever even owned one at all....Never say never, cause you just never know....

A friend just passed away and his wife called me to see if I'd be interested in some "Old cars" he had on the property as she was cleaning up...

Dan the friend, loved his beloved Dodge Challenger and I just couldn't stand to see it flipped and resold, stripped, crushed, etc...So, I made an offer for ALL THREE 1972-73 Challengers and Well, I got 'em...Dan, Buddy, wherever you are, your 'ol Dodge you bought after getting out of the service way back in 1974 and bought in 1976, will see the light of day again buddy...May you finally rest in peace my friend...I bought Dan's old Challenger along with the two parts cars for $3000.00..It just goes to show you, that the deals are there, you just gotta have some faith...I really didn't NEED these cars, as I need them like a hole in my head, but I just couldn't pass 'em up....I even think the dark blue one with the Rally hood may even be a 340 car....

This one of the "parts" cars and the engine was out (318)

This Was Dan's beloved Challenger...

Unfortunately, the Dark Blue car as well as the green car will have to be sold to finance Dan's car...Working on getting the titles to them as we speak...

I don't know guys, On the one hand, I want to pay respect to Dan and HIS dream, but on the other, I'm thinking of going with another color on the Light blue car...

1. Deffinately swapping the grille, Side markers and rear tail light panel for 1970 stuff either way, as I got the blessing of Dan's wife..(Just can't do '72-'74)
2. White Kowalski's car..With the hood off the Dark blue car
3. Always wanted a black Challenger
4. One of the H.I.P. Colors..(Leaning towards Citron Yella)
5. Paint it back light blue...

I just don't know right now...

Your friend is probably watching.

Do what you have to, to honor his memory, make him proud, and make real his unfulfilled dream.

I couldn't possibly own two Challengers without one of them being a Kowalski special.  Maybe not even own a single Chally without it.

I find it strange that your late friend loved his Challenger, but left it outside sitting in the grass for so long it's sunk into the ground!.

Yes, Dan even had a garage with a concrete floor, but his Harley's were in there... :shruggy:

You can't see it very well, but he did park his car on a piece of old plywood..Alot of good it did, but it helps I guess...He had the car painted back in around 1990 or so, and parked it right where it sits... :rotz:

I managed to get the green car out tonight..One T-Bar is either broken or removed, as the left front is LOW...
It isn't too bad, but would take ALOT to bring that one back..BUT! It is an E-Body...Has anybody else ever seen an original set of chrome Mag. 500's? (Road wheels?) I think these as far as I can tell are originals...I guess they COULD be Ford Wheels, but I don't think so...

The Dark blue car is the one I REALLY want to get out of the Earth, but Dan at one time locked both doors and now I can't free the latches to get the doors open..The lock mech. works with the key, but the little piece that blocks the latch from working is evidently rusted in the locked position.. :brickwall:

I think if they sell, they would go together as a package...Dark Blue one to fix, and the green one for parts...Both cars have full interiors...(Auto console)..

I know the "Vanishing Point" thing has been done and done like the General Lees, but for me, there is just something about a white E-Body with Factory 15X7 Rallys......I'm either going White, or That DMCL Cirton Yella...Gotta do the Pistol Grip thing though...

I could post some better pics of the light blue car when I finally get home sometime in the next two weeks if you guys would like to see 'em.(I know, it's a Charger site primarily). Some of the resto pics as well..

Got into the Dark Blue car tonight finally..Got 'em moved from their 20 Year graves...
Blue car is fixable, green car will need a roof (DENTED)..among other things..
The front brake is locked up (DISC) on the dark blue car on the left side, so before I can load it up, I gotta get that unstuck...
Couldn't really make out the numbers on the Engine in the dark blue car very well, but it does have the Rally dash, hood (Not going with), and side fender scoops...
Went and got all the stuff Dan had removed from the Interior of his car..I was amazed to find the rear seat in NOS condition...The front seats he had bought all kinds of NOS stuff, including seat covers, NEW Wheel well trim in Mopar packaging, NOS Front lower Valance, NOS Headliner, and all the Window fuzzies, but rats had gotten to about all the Soft stuff and ruined it..I also found all the door panels and rear panels in like new condition..This is VERY rare today with the sun beatin' down on that plastic and such...

Holy CRAP my thread is old..Time for a few updates...Dang...

Away we go....

Of course, being the cheap bastid that I am, I bought the Cheap, "china" floor pan and had to weld the reinforcements for the seat bolts to the underside..Of course, it wasn't stamped deep enough and the pieces had to be bent down on the ends and welded length wise...

I had a few extra minutes to fab up the Dana's Pinion Snubber..(Truck rear)
