Although, Hamtramck seemed to print the body color twice regardless of whether that particular car was coded for a vinyl top or not.  The St. Louis assembly plant, on the other hand, usually left off the first color code (roof color) if it was a V-top car.  

Gene you have that backwards....

Chris, you're right -  Hamtramck is the one that left the first color code off on V-top cars, not St. Louis.  I think I've messed that up before too, maybe one day I'll learn...

Well without the last 3 of the VIN its hard to tell if I have heard of the car before or not. Narrowing it down from the list of VIN's I have in front of me there are 16 that I know of that start 217xxx, and of those 3 are F8 cars so its possible. PM me if you want

my car is      217188     possible B-20 date    no tag on my car

this car is a close relative to mine  LOL

My C500 is a 217183 also B20 build date, pretty close to yours huh?

I did have the build sheet at one time but lost it when I was a young kid and didn't know what I had at the time. It said it was a special order 69 charger 500 I recall.. The fender tag says its a R4 car with C6R interior color.

well nothing special, r11,v88,g15,g33,j25,l31,m21,a01,a04,a11,b51,c16,c55,e86,d32, 440 auto 323 gears but now 4.10

Hey Jeff.

Does your car have the 22" radiator in it as well? Just curious as you said it had the 3.23 gears in it originally figured it would have the 22" radiator core support too?

yeah it came with a 22 and still have it, also have a 26 and a aluminum too. It use to get very hot with the 22 so I went to a bigger size.
