Thinking about painting car red with satin black hood w/hood pins and hood scoop. My favorite choices are either 6pack hood scoop or Hemi like Hemi Darts have.

That wasn't an option, plus I'm looking at something that looks aggressive going down the road.
Air grabber kits are very expensive anyways

Im a big fan of the 6pack hood personally......love the look on Brians car, but i would have to see what it looks like red. If may be one of thos things a black car can pull off.

Honestly I haven't seen pics of your charger in sooooo long I'd have to see Your charger to decide.
do you need it to clear duces or is it just for looks?..   :shruggy:
Personally i like a charger with a clean hood, even though I fabbed up my own, 20 + years ago...
I really love they way a Chally T/As looks on a charger though,..

Khyron

ohhhhh and I tryed it once on mine, back when my normal hood was getting done.... my suggestion is buy a glass one with it molded on, putting one on a steel hood is a pain in the ass.

Not liking the scoop idea on a Charger.  It just doesn't look right to me. I wish Mopar designed some kind of fresh air system for the Charger on the 68-70's....Almost everything else had one available!!

If I remember correctly your car was unique in it's factory configuration.  I say leave it alone or sell it to someone who appreciates it for what it is & buy yourself some 318 car to mod up.  :shruggy: :Twocents:

I remember FastbackJon talking about you & your car on the old site before you were even a member.

I like a scoop but it would look out of place on a Charger hood (with the moulded sections). I agree with Khyron, get a fibreglass hood with your choice of scoop moulded in, it won't have the moulded sections and would look like it belongs (like the pic in Hemidog's post) then at least you have the option of both hoods.

I ended up going with a 6 pack scoop with a little bit of a cowl induction to it.  Mine is satin black on an F8 charger/black vinyl top.

When i get home i will post up some pics for you as i am at work right now.

Here are a couple of pics of mine from 4 years ago.  I like the scoop a lot but the stock hood looks good too.  Still got the scooped hood and may put it back on at some point.  I think it would look cool if it had hood pins too.

thanks for the compliments guys, it's never even been on the car... when i first posted it, everyone hated it...  :shruggy:
i think if it's perfomance gains you want a lighter fiberglass hood has to be the way to go, these hoods are awfully heavy!

  http://www.wsracingfiberglass.com/products.htm

Looks wise i prefer the chally T/A style. really don't like the early HEMI style, the a-12 style comes in the middle but seems like the most common and maybe the easy way to go...
BTW: there are dozens of threads on adding hood scoops to chargers... Avail. via search...  :yesnod:
