Does the drivers side seat track cable mount to the front of the seat, the same way the passenger side seat track cable mounts to the front of the seat?

Neither of mine were like that. Just had a wire from side to side with a "spring" type retainer. Someone could have changed at some point though.

Is the strap going to the front or the back of the drivers seat?

The drivers side wire and strap are both shorter than the passenger side. They connect the same, to the hook on the front of the seat, they are just shorter. If you happen to find an extra drivers side wire and strap, I could use one, I had to rob the one in the pic (my '68 Dart seats) from my Charger. The seat on the left is the pass. seat, the one on the right is the drivers seat.
If it ain't broke, fix it 'till it is.
