What??? The ad says it's a 68 and restored. No buckets in 68, right? No grabber in 68, right?

Has a 69 grill and other 69 items on it. And then the VIN says its a 70.

So this one earns five shruggies.   :shruggy: :shruggy: :shruggy: :shruggy: :shruggy:

I e-mailed the seller. Could be a very funny explanation.  :smilielol:

EDIT (hours later) yeah I forgot the link, see several replies past this. :slap:

Tail lights are wrong year, They are right for a 69, they do not interchange with 68. Seats are wrong, not even mopar seats. Fenders and grille are wrong, Can't get HI paint in 68, the vin looks like 1970. It has electronic ignition, not points That car has a few red flags, nice parts collection

Maybe 2 rear qtrs were put on without side marker cut outs and it was easier to put in round holes instead of rectangular  :shruggy:.

Run away is no joke. I got an e-mail reply. The seller said that he knows it is the wrong VIN. :scope:

No, say it isn't so!!!! How can it be?? :o Then he directed me to call him for more details. :scratchchin: I'm not bothering.

He appears to be a dealer and trades a lot on e-bay. I saw nothing in the ad that identified him as such, except the feedback list of dozens of car transactions.

Buyer beware. It remains a laughable three year freak hybrid with a cloud hanging over it (and I am being kind saying that).

rt green ... that's funny.

I see that the ad now has added info: a new VIN, but only after you scroll down to the bottom. And a note that the rear quarters were changed to a 69.

So his claim is that it has a 69 rear (but featuring 68 side lights) and a 68 front (except for the 69 side light and 69 grill). Fact: he doesn't know what it is.

I couldn't resist: I e-mailed to ask for more info and pics.

I would like to be a fly on the wall when the new owner attempts to register that thing. From the looks of things, it appears whoever "restored" that car bought a '69 RR without a tag or title, but went ahead with the resto anyway. It seems they weren't shy about mixing in '68 parts either. Then, when it came time to decide how to register the car so it could be licensed/titled, they simply got a tag from a crushed or rotted '70 RR and stuck it on there. The owner may have a hell of a lot of explaining to do if the state they live in requires an inspection before it can be licensed.
