Let's face it. Hot in the summer and cold in the winter, vinyl seats suck. AND they don't recline.

FLG

Im changing mine. I cant count the number of times i was relaxing and wanted to recline em back  :brickwall:

Plus there not the most comfortable seat for long drives  :rotz:

Mike DC

Most of the stock seats do suck.  They don't adjust, they're not leather, and they're usually not even safe in a wreck.

I think the '70 Charger seats are the most comfortable of all the 10 cars we own...even the PT Cruisers

FLG

My buddy has these style seats in his camaro

Now most people wont like em, but i think that STYLE seat is very comfortable. It really hugs you and with the right padding is actually quite comfortable for the average size individual. I sat in em for a bit of a drive, they recline, and i was really impressed.

Im not going to drop crazy money because of the brand, but im defintaly going to look for that style seat for the charger.

I like the bucket style bench seat in my Duster, it's pretty cool. I also like the seats in my Charger because they have the cloth inserts. However, I'll probally put Acura RSX seats in the Charger and Corbeau A4 racing seats in the Coronet.

I like my leather SE seats.  I did have to stiffen the lower seat area a bit with foam as it was a little soft.
This car was sold many years ago to somebody in Wisconsin. I now am retired and living in Florida.

I'm not a fan of my bucket seats in my 72 just seem a bit flat with no lumbar? support.
I will replace them one day with something that is more modern, but hopefully doesnt look too
Out of place. There was a guy here on DC with a black 2nd gen with...pontiac feiro? seats and IMO They looked great  :Twocents:

I thought long and hard about it and went with the stock buckets in my '68. I like the original look, and I've done probably 30,000 miles in GM pickup bench seats. They work for me.
I'll have time on relatively short trips (<1000 miles) to see if I need a change. If I decide to change I'll have to get the new seats redone to match the blue interior.

Where did you get the auto  pistol grip shifter? I like it!

Nacho-RT74

I feel very comfortable on my buckets and I have been driving 9 continues hours on them... but yes I'm not happy with they don't recline. However won't change them.

The material... vinyl... well you can change the for cloth if wished, on same color and keep the seam pattern

I like the factory seats in my Challenger. Very comfortable, just wish I had the 6 way seat. I wouldn't change them. And I never burnt my ass  :nana:

Cooperman

My wife surprised me and had these Recaros trimmed to look like '69 seats for my birthday. A lot more supportive than the standard 'buckets' too...

:yesnod:   even though i added extra padding/ foam when i recovered my seats , they still give me   slight  lower back ache after about an hour & half 2 hours , did think about getting a set of Recaro's recovered to match the chargers front , not long after i got my charger , but decided against it  as it did not leave the factory with them seats  :-\ :popcrn: ( still got the recaros in the attic

Cooperman, nice seats, how do they fit with the console in, did you have any trouble with it. Did the tracks fit or did you use your factory tracks. How dose the seat belts fit any problems.

Brock Lee

I have done 2 summer cross country trips circling through New Mexico and Arizona in my 69 vinyl seat no AC Charger. My only gripe is getting out and having my shirt back soaked with sweat.

Nacho-RT74

A friend of mine did the 71 design on newer buckets ( dunno the were come from the buckets )

still on Vinyl, but perforated

( I though I had a better pic of the seats... sorry )

How much and where do you get those seats?

Strange thing about Chrysler seats.  Every other car i have had that wasnt a Chrysler, has bugged my back on a long drive.  Even my EB Explorer with the lumber seats etc bugs my back on a long drive. Strange but they must design the seats a little different, or make them for a certain size person.

teddy1500

I put cordoba seats in the wagon, Added extra foam on the driverside, then a 20.00 set of seat covers, too cheap redo them right. Not the best for long trips, but not too bad either. I do like the map pockets on the back of the seats. I also used the buddy seat from the same cordoba. Its nice to have someplace to rest the elbow.

Cooperman

I know! I'm a lucky guy. My original seats were all shot to heck. I didn't even have a backrest on the passenger seat, so I don't feel too bad for changing them out.

The Recaros fit well, although I had to drill (!) some more holes in the floor for mounting, and I used the Recaro (height adjustable) runners as they worked. There's a four inch gap between the inner seat base bolster and the console, so no clearance problems there. I'll try and get a photo.

The seat belts are another issue. It was only equipped with lap belts, and here in the UK we are required to have a three point belt. I'm really reluctant to mount the upper attachment point on the top of the inner rear quarter (convertible style), so I'm looking to replicate the factory roof mount for the upper point. It should all work out ok.

Anyone have any experience with these guys? http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=360241256533&viewitem=&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWAX%3AIT
