Danica is in a minefield with NASCAR but they like the PR she brings to the game. But in the long run is she going to make you forget about Richard "the King" Petty?

Danica who? - Oh, the one who runs 34th and takes off her clothes. :icon_smile_big:

No. She'll never be more than mid pack driver at best, unless she has access to all the best equipment and money is no object. Which in that case she would have to drive for Hendrick's where all their drivers finish in the top ten.
Oops, I forgot about Junior, keep forgetting about the most overrated, over hyped driver in NASCAR. Looks like he'll have some competition in that department.
72 Charger- Base Model
68 Charger-R/T Clone
69 Charger Daytona clone
79 Lil Red Express - future money pit
88 Ramcharger 4x4- current money pit
55 Dodge Royal 2 door - wife's money pit
2014 RAM 2500HD Diesel

Oops, she is also in Hendrick I mean Junior Motorsports cars.  :icon_smile_big:

Even though it's Busch, I mean Nationwide.

Most of the Indy car drivers that came before her that actually won full field real races and/or championships couldn't adapt to Nascar after 2+ years - I agree mid-pack at best. I don't begrudge anyone success - male, female, whatever. Just that she is all sizzle and no steak.

I almost feel sorry for him.

The photo below and topic are two of the most inane things I've ever seen on this board.

Googling your username, it seems you post up the same random topics on umpteen different boards to drive traffic to your site.   It's just another way of spamming.

Noticed that too, it's poor internet etiquette for sure.

Personally....I think she'll do just fine!!

She's pretty "flat" in the equipment dept. if you get my drft. I never have understood what all the fuss is over her. She's about as fun to look at as Taylor Swift is to hear sing.

chargerboy69

She is done until sometime in July or August I believe anyway.  She has only had three races.  I am not ready to say she can or can not drive competitively in NASCAR just yet.  And even when she hops back in the car she will still have had only minimal time behind the wheel.  Look at Sam Hornish Jr.  A three time IRL Champion, and he has not even come close to winning a race in three years.

Danica is still more fun for the average male NASCAR fan to look at than Tony Stewart or Junior.

Taylor Swift has still sold quite a few albums with that voice.

I don't really follow nascar any more, too much like iroc, no longer american cars, the traffic at charlotte (lowes) really sucks on race day. From the track to the interstate, it is a gauntlet of dui check points. It would be impossible for a male driver to make the switch from irl to nascar with her record. that columbian (not sure of his name) is having a tough time in nascar, and he has years of experience racing in Formula 1 and IRL.
She is simply a marketing device. If JR's last name was "Smith", would he be driving this year?

Have you ever heard her sing live? It's a miserable experience.

I have no clue whether or not she sounds good onstage.  But either way she's sold a lot of albums.

True enough, but it doesn't man she can sing any better than Danica can race.

I like JPM and I'll tell you why.  A couple of years ago an interviewer asked him what he thought of some of the other drivers saying he was too aggressive. JPM said (in his accent), "Cheep Gannassi does not pay me to finish 25th". I thought finally, a driver that is going to buck the points racing, boring Vanilla driver trend and try to win races above all.....Just like the boys of decades past.

Speaking of cry-babies - they are ALL crybabies - all of them.

Nascar need more drivers like him - going for wins not top 10's and top 15's. Nascar (has anyone noticed) is declining big time in the stands and on TV. Bad economy? The NFL has grown.

And saying he is having a tough time in Nascar - how do you figure that?

Ghoste

I hope he doesn't take off his clothes.    When I think of Danica Patrick the second thing that comes to mind is that anyone who would suggest she will unseat Richard Petty is a moron.  The real race will be to see what gives out first, her popularity based on her looks or her driving ability.  Is there a yawn smiley?

JPM certainly is not lacking in the self confidence department.    As big of a knob as he can come off as, I was pulling for him today - and I'll give him this:   He is candid and calls it EXACTLY like he sees it.    His personality is exactly what NASCAR needs in a world of Vanilla drivers (see Kurt Busch).   Kurt Busch is now SO politically correct after his "Don't you know who I am?" deal with the cops in Vegas a couple years ago.   He is now so neutered, that when I hear him talk now, I just want to barf.    I have to walk away or turn the sound down.

Did you ever hear the story about how JPM met his wife?    Her boyfriend at the time wanted JPM's autograph and was too chicken to go up and ask for it.   So he sent her instead.  I guess the rest was history (including the ex-boyfriend).  This was back in the early F1 days.

I cannot hear/read the name Juan Pablo Montoya without thinking of Inigo Montoya from "The Princess Bride" -
