Does anyone know if a circuit board can be repaired? (ie) the green strips that peel up?

Dans 68

I don't see why not. Post a pic or two that illustrates your problem and the collective will figure out a solution.  :yesnod:

Thanks a million!

If the delamination is just in the circuit between the ground terminals of the gauges, simply add an electrical bridge between the grounding studs on the gauges. Use a proper sized insulator ring connector (photo attached) and crimp a wire between them. Then glue down (super glue comes to mind) or laminate down the raised edges of the broken foil circuit so it will not continue to lift off. The attached photo shows how to run the wire. The wire gauge probably should be between 12 to 16 gauge.

If more than just the one area is delaminating you can apply the principle above or get a replacement board (and I don't know how difficult that is to do). Good luck!  :2thumbs:

Ahh, good to know!  :2thumbs:  And only $125.00!  :brickwall:  Well worth it if yours is in pieces.  :yesnod:

A bit pricey bit the board has the solid state limiter already built in....

Then it is a good fix for those who also want to get a solid state limiter.  :2thumbs:

Try some super glue first before you shell out 125 samolians. Use only enough to repair the delam........not sure if super glue is di-electric. Keep us posted. Good luck.

If the repair helps to create continuity between the repaired sections then it is for the better. Dielectric problems (edit) "should" be non-existent as the ends of the repair will have the same voltage with the bridged electrical wire fix. Just keep to the original envelope of the conductive foil to avoid nasty and unforeseen electrical problems.   :2thumbs:

If that doesn't work, let me know.  I have a spare one I can send you for the cost of the shipping.

What about that "electrical glue" that you use to fix broken conductors in electric window defrosters?

twodko

I love it when you talk like that Dan!

You are right, but they can be pricey. I did a quick look up on Amazon and this goes for about $32 for qty (2) 7 gram tubes. http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0000WSZC8/ref=pd_lpo_k2_dp_sr_3?pf_rd_p=486539851&pf_rd_s=lpo-top-stripe-1&pf_rd_t=201&pf_rd_i=B000LX4JO4&pf_rd_m=ATVPDKIKX0DER&pf_rd_r=1EZH1TWM12CRREF6RHBT

PS - I'd also get Mike's extra board for the price of postage.  :yesnod:

I paid $65 for that stuff a few years ago. It works great, but use sparingly.
