Congrats to both teams....one of the best games i've seen in a long time. It could have gone either way.   

The US squad has a lot of up and coming young stars which bodes well for their future Olympic hopes.

Not if the NHL and Olympic Committee don't put an agreement together for the next Olympics. From what I've seen on the sports channels and in the paper that is going to be a tough negotiation. We may have just seen the last Olympics with NHL stars.

I think it should return to amateur competition anyway. Pros competing was fun for a while but I think it's taken a lot of the interest out of it for me.

If the NHL players don't return it takes away from the meaning of the Olympics to me. That is, to have the best athletes your country has competing with the other best in the world. To not send them we would be watching the "not quite good enough to make it" players because the NHL is the league where the gifted end up.
