Just saw a commercial for the newest Hollywood remake..... Nightmare on Elm Street. ::)   Un-freakin-believable.  Hollywood definitely needs some new ideas.  I think I'll save my money! :flame: :rotz:

I seen the new remake of Helloween 2, and let me just say this, I still stand behind the original from back in the 1980s. The new remake wasn't even scary and the music wasn't all that good either. At least with the original the footage was scary and the music played a big big part in is as well. I think the filmakers that are making these so called new things needs to take a trip down memory lane of what the original ones was originally like to get the feel of "how to make" the remakes.  :lol:

the  re-make "clash of the titans" is comming out soon... i guess it's just cause now there are alot more special effects w/ the technology out today?!?!?

This one actually makes sense to me. I liked the movie as a kid but even then I was groaning at the "special effects" they had to work with. But that was back in '81 so I can live with a remake that's released 29 years after the original.

I think COTT loses a little something without the stop-motion animation to be honest.  Of course it's logical & wise to do a remake with full realism, but the strobing effect of the stop-motion arguably became part of the "feel" of the original.  (Particularly the skeleton warriors.)  

I'm not saying the original way was better as a whole, I'm just saying it did offer something that will be lost this time.

I would love to see the result of playing around with varying degrees of camera shutter openings on the new CGI footage for this remake.  They could have theoretically given the CGI stuff photorealistic movement, the full old-school strobing effect with no motion blur at all, or any stage in between.  Or even varied it depending on the shot or type of movement.
