440 pricing and difficulty of rebuild?

Not to beat it to death but get the DVD. I cant explain things very well and don't want to miss inform you on what is involved.

Ok no problem. And just to clarify greenpigs, are you suggesting that I DO re-build the motor?

Like 340 said if it is a 69 440 all you will need to change is the cam specs. So yes I am saying you should rebuild it yourself.

     So I guess mechanic who lives in the town where the guy selling the engine lives happened upon the engine and gave the guy $500 cash on the spot for the motor. When I talked to him he did offer me a '76 440 block for the same price, but I passed it up. It looks like Im back to getting my 360 goin again lol.
     Anyways I just wanted to thank you guys for all of your input and I will definitely use that information in the future :icon_smile_big:
