We lost power Thursday night, still no power, I'm posting this from work.
Top wind gust here was 91 mph. We have flagpoles and street signs snapped in half. One of our buildings at work had a 30'x150' section of roof peel off.
My house has no damage. No snow here, lots of rain. Some local flooding. The Chargers are safe and dry.

Wow, 91 mph gusts. Glad your doing ok and no house damage. We had 40mph gusts yesterday and I gave up trying to keep the driveway open. I'm heading out now to clear some snow.

Augusta Maine report.

Little more than usual wind the last few days.  Some snow last night that will melt off(didn't even put the plow on)
My power flickered once in the last 2 days
Significant rain a couple days ago
Coastal Flooding reported

All in all mild winter.  Everyone thinks Maine gets hit hard, we haven't seen anything out of the ordinary here and it's been mild the last few years.
I've lived here 14 years and it has never been as bad as it is a little south of us in the lower northeast(DEL/MAR/VA)
They just say the winters are bad to keep people out, so I'm telling you to come to Maine because they are full of crap.

Lost power for a couple hours on Wed. evening.   Lost the tv/cable/phone that day and night.  Back on in the a.m.

Lucked out and got all rain on Thursday night...   a little further south it was all snow.  States of emergency, blah blah blah.

Walked into work yesterday (HAL Poughkeepsie) and it was blacked out.   Substation that feeds the plant blew up before 6am.   We sat around on emergency backup lights for a few hours before going home.    Was told I guess that power came back on in the evening.

So I tried to check up on E-booger and drove to his house and it was snowed under and dam near got stuck with the Fiddy trying to get back out.  Finally found him at Empire Mopars... power out for 3 days,  no heat, etc.   Tried to find him a generator up my way but all sold out.  He's hanging out with his GF.

Today's been an ODD day... Around 35-40 degrees.. Sunny one minute, snowing the next, raining the next sleeting the next... Mother nature is bi-polar.

Hard to think that, in the midst of all of this bad weather around us, I took this today around 3:30... A few minutes later it was snowing like crazy!!

Wish I had that problem.  On a side note from northern NJ on the border of NY, we got a total of 32" of snow in the past two days.   :brickwall: :RantExplode:

Here in Lyme NH,

We had big wind storm and lots of rain. Never got an official wind speed but it was ripping. We ended up moving he family into the basement when we could feel the house moving under the wind stress in the master bedroom on the top floor.

I was out on Fire call from roughly 11:30pm to 5am when things finally settled down. I was out most of today doing power line assessments/damage reports, checking in on the elderly and in need. We have roughly 40% of our town without power. We personally didn't loose it this year. The last big wind storm that leveled acres of trees in the area had us without power for 6-7 days.

I'm in Derry Nh.  I didnt lose power, I'm on the hospital grid, but 3/4 of the people around have.  My road is part closed due to flooding, and there are lots of trees and poles down.  I go to school in Manchester nh, and the highway looked like a tornado touched down.  There were state plow trucks plowing the tree branches off the road.

nh_mopar_fan

Lost power at 11pm on Thursday. Came back on about 20 minutes ago. Those winds on Thursday night were unreal. I had pine branches all over the yard and they had to clear the house to get over there. I think I'm going to take these pines down before mother nature does it for me. They are about 20 ft from the house and 60-70 feet high. Oh, and I am pricing out a generator package this summer.

Lots of roads in town were closed yesterday but the water receded today.

Whew.

Still no power, posting from work. Electric company said by midnight at the earliest.
My Dad's road looks like a war zone, have to drive under a tree supported by power lines to get to his house, thankfully he's in FLA, it will be the better part of a week before his place gets power.

Geez, that's tough Brian. I was ready to drain a zone here last night. Lower level temps were down to 49. Hope they get you back up sooner.

It started snowing sometime late on Wednesday night, Feb 25th, or early Thursday morning. We had several inches on the ground by 10 AM when the boss told us to all leave early. Most scattered out the door before he finished his sentence.  With a huge project we're bidding on, I stayed with 2 others trying to get it done. By 12 PM my wife called me to let me know that the wonderful G.E. Profile fridge we bought 3 years ago & had fixed 3 times for door alignment & sealing problems, finally died.  ::)

I left work at 1 PM & the roads were a mess with about 4 or 5 inches of slush. After rearranging half the basement to get our old fridge set up & cleaned, & putting 25 cubic feet worth of food in a 17 cubic foot fridge, I had to start shoveling & snow blowing. Fitting the stuff in the smaller fridge was easier than shoveling wet snow since the beer stayed cold in the snow.

We lost power Thursday night & didn't get it back on until Sunday night. I had a generator with a full tank of gas & 5 more gallons, but knew I needed more. When the snow fall slowed up we had 2 feet of heavy, wet snow on the ground. Trying to find a gas station that had power so I could get gas was a pain. The few I saw that did have power had nothing but morons lining up & some getting stuck in snow banks blocking the entrance. Less than 5 minutes away from the morons, I found a station that was open with nobody on line & filled up gas cans there.

Now that the storm is done & the power is back, I get to argue & fight with G.E. to get them to send someone to fix the POS they sold me or give me a new one. It has a 5 year warranty, but I'm sure they'll try to get out of it.
