It always surprises me what might be close to home... I ran across this on ebay. It's probably 10 miles down the road from me. I've never heard of a "Silver Special"

QuoteI inherited this car from my dad a few years ago and we had been working on it for a few years before that. After he passed we came across paperwork and the original build sheet that said this car was for all intents and purposes a "1 of 1".

Never heard of it either... but that could be a really cool Silver Bullet clone with some work.

Apparently the silver special package had been around in the 50's too.  Only thing I can nail down so far is it was painted silver like on the roof and then tonal on the rest of the body.  The interior had toned inserts in the seats too.
Regardless, this car is far from a silver special anymore.  Makes me think I should have no problem getting 18k for my 67 Coronet R/T. :P
Life isn't Father Knows Best anymore, it's a kick in the face on a saturday night with a steel toed grip kodiak work boot and a trip to the hospital all bloodied and bashed.....for reconstructive surgery. But, what doesn't kill us, makes us stronger, right?

The "Silver Special" began back in 1958, with the Plymouth Savoy. It was painted silver on the roof, along with silver in the trim insert along the bottom near the rear fender...I've personally never heard of a "Big Block/Hemi Silver Special" in 1967 Belvedere, but I guess it could exist..

I don't think there was combined version of it but as far as I know you could order a silver special on any Belvedere thus making it possible for a big block car or a Hemi car to also have the silver special package.   But no, I don't think there was a situation where there was a single order box to check off that read something like "Hemi/Silver Special" package and the two came together.
