Looks like Tim and the Aero Warriors Meet is getting some good exposure. Here are some scans of the latest issue. Sorry Doug, don't have a scanner for the width of two pages, but I made due... 'Tona got in there again with the billboard photo.  :icon_smile_big:

I was at the grocery store the other night looking for the magazine.   I was genuinely STARTLED when I opened the article at the size of the picture.   You can't see his face, but that is Ramo's son Lance in the drivers seat.    I wish Cliff had captioned it way, but I had no idea he would use that photo as one of the big ones.

Also, if you look in the background of the night shot of Tim's orange car, you can see the 7 car sitting in the showroom next to the Isaac Daytona.   They sure make a nice pair on display like that.

Man that is some real nice eye candy there.  love to make it there one day...

Yeah, I was surprised to see that article when I opened the mag a few weeks ago. I was gonna post it up then but there was another thread started that morning.
It's a great article.   Kudos to you Doug for submitting it and getting the exposure.   :2thumbs:
I love the smell of nitro in the morning.

awesome place ,  one day i'll get there to see the Musuem  in person ..

Make sure that you do.  You won't regret it.  It's like stepping back in time. Personally, I enjoyed the Wellborn Museum more than the Talladega Speed Museum.  They did an awesome job!

Wow! very impressive. I would love to see it in person one day.

How did he become so wealthy to do all this and have such a collection?

I don't believe that is true.    Tim sold off a lot of a much smaller collection some years back to build the family business.   His did passed away unexpectedly and Tim assumed a much larger role in running the operation.    He worked hard enough to have a heart attack at age 46, if that tells you anything.   My understanding is he took the business to a new level.    In recent years he was able to sell the business and remain in a consulting role for some time, but that is over now.

You dont hear much about his brothers. If they still collect cars or not. I got old magazines showing pictures of all their cars

Doug, your analysis of Tim's history is correct. While at the Talladega event  & visit to his museum, the history of his past & current status is well documented

I spoke with his brother while I was there....I think he still messes around with cars a little.

Whether he inherited that money or earned it with a lot of hard work, Tim and his wife Pam are the nicest, most down to earth millionaires you'll ever meet.  We are really lucky that they take the Mopar hobby so seriously and are preserving so much history with their collection and the new museum.  I can't see how there's a profit to be made with that wonderful building so they must be in it for the passion and we're lucky that they're willing to share it with us and not lock it away out of sight.

Troy had told me how they were such great hosts at their last event and I'll have to say it was a true pleasure meeting them and look forward to spending more time with them again.

Everything was great until we went to Talladega.  It was a shame the fall race was such a bore.  No "bump drafting" and single file racing made for the worst racing I have ever seen in my life.  I actually fell asleep in the stands for half the race.  What a joke.  I know they've loosened up this year but NASCAR will never get another dollar from me.
I love the smell of nitro in the morning.
