I'm about to order some nitto nt555 since from what I've searched and read on this forum, are pretty good tires.

Anyway, I'm going with 17s and was wondering about the back ones-do I go with 275, 285 or 295? front will be 245.

thanks!

I have been trying to locate a 295-45-17 size tire other than a Mickey Thompson ET Street Radial and have been unsuccessful so far. Does Nitto make that size?  :popcrn:

nope - they make a 295/45/18...

to the original poster - you might want to try a 285 - be sure to compare the prices between the 285 and 295...   i remember the difference being huge for 10mm more of tread

There are people on this site running 295/45/18 on the back of 2nd gens.  Mass Mopar runs the 295 series Nittos on the back of his '70  (18x935) wheels..and he even said he could use a bit more backspace.

On a 17" wheel, I bet you could get away with even bigger than 295...although you may have to go with 40's instead.

Here is a really good thread with a lot of sizes in it.
