Thats when I was just putting it in, Engine compartment was black when I bought the car, and the body was still Y4 Gold.

one more small block, then Big Block

The second is when i put the second 440ish motor in it.... It just fills out that compartment so nicely ;)

BTW: as you can see the 440 has the 440source waterpump on it.... junk! absolute crap product and because of it I will never buy another 440source part ever again, didn't flow water well, car had overheating issues.... avoid their China made crap at all costs!

I put a stock pump in it and never had a problem again. If anyone here works for 440source, come to my house so i can plant that waterpump firmly up your ass. it almost killed my motor!

Life isn't Father Knows Best anymore, it's a kick in the face on a saturday night with a steel toed grip kodiak work boot and a trip to the hospital all bloodied and bashed.....for reconstructive surgery. But, what doesn't kill us, makes us stronger, right?

I think that over the years a lot of the small block Chargers have been converted to big block. Or, have been pieced apart to restore pedigree cars. Small blocks just don't get the respect a big block, namely 440, gets. Back in the day I had plenty of 318 cars. They ran well, just were nothing special and the aftermarket didn't really make good go-fast parts for them. The 340 and then the 360 started to give the small blocks some muscle, but still limited aftermarket support. 440's were the way to go because you got plenty of power with little aftermarket support. Mopar never had good aftermarket company's making parts for us, till recently.

Today, it's a whole different world. You can make 400+hp with a small block easy. Performance parts have improved by leaps and bounds

If I've done the correct research, my 318 build will move that b body just fine  :drive:

          '72 Charger SE 4bbl 318                          '76 Power Wagon 400 W200                                 2011 (attempt at a) Charger

Still got the #'s matching 318 under the hood. The original owner spend a lot of cash to have it rebuilt less than a year before I got. Since than I only swapped the heads, intake, carb, and put a set of headers on it. Now at least it sounds like it could do something. All show n a lil go.

Charger-73

I have small block also 360.

When Charger is on the road I will start building another engine. Plan is still use small block. Stroked 408 or something close to that and maybe install EFI and supercharger on it. But this is just dream at the moment. But still I would like to ask what kind of setup I should go and how much power and torque I can get "easily" from 408 with EFI and supercharger?

Later when Charger is ready I will ask consulting from you guys to find good setup for new engine. =)

what is the cost difference between stroking a small bloack and building a big block?

On ebay you can get a 360 stroker crank for $279.95  :o ...Get the stroker pistons, balance it and then let it rip  :musik010:

I know it's oversimplifying it, but is that basically all you need? Stroker crank and pistons?
