okay well i called the guy that sold me the 360 j heads.. here the infor he gave me..

ported
harden seats so i can run unleaded fuel
2.02intake---1.60exht comp valves
comp cams springs valves
bronze guides
freshend where the valves seat..
surfaced the heads took 10k off..
he ran this on a flat top 340 he was runnin 10.1:1 compression and runnin 12.3 et 1/4 mile..

okay he told me if i have the stock comp pistons iam in trouble but he said if i take another 10k off the heads put a thin steal head gasket coat it with cooper coat two times i should be good that way i up the comp with out puttin new pistons in it... he said i might need to surface them maybe another 10k so in total of 30k off but i might throw the intake alignment off so i might need a thicker intake gasket... and told me to run a 220-225 duration cam he was recomending a lunati vodoo cam with a holley 600cfm vacum secounderis with vacum feed.. and i should be good...

what u guys think i really need your guys help i wann get this beast on the road i live in a small town in norther california called arbuckle and theres alot of mustangs here i want to shut them up well try to iam the only guy in town with a mopar..

without knowing how the porting was done, and flow rates, help is minimal. And I try to stay out of the small block arena and let those who deal with them a lot more do the talking. But I can tell you vacuum secondaries are never a good idea.

I ran with that "5.0 Mustank" croud for about 5 years and I can tell you, If your not sprayin', Blown, or Turbo'd all to hell, you WILL Not keep up even with a 500 C.I. BB stroker....We have a few of those Stangs runnin' DEEP in the 4's 8th mile....That equals somewhere round a high 7 low 8 1/4 mile and are STREET driven......Sooner or later, the Ford Guys bomb enough Nitrous as they aren't worried bout blowing up a 302, that they make it impossible to keep up with a expensive engine to replace like the 340....

Not saying you Can't outrun a few round town, but if they are like the ones out here on the east cost, you better have more than 340 Cubes and then some....

To be sure of what your doing, you should get the heads chambers CC'd. That will give you a base to start with for calculating your compression. Been awhile since I explored 360 heads on the 18 but if I remember right you have to take off closer to .60 to get it even close. Dont take my word for it though. But if you bolt them on stock, and then add a performance cam your motor will be a flat dog. My advise would be to sell off the J codes, and go shopping at the junkyard for some early 90's 302 casting heads, or better yet magnum heads from 94 up. They have larger valves, bigger ports, better chambers, and will hike your compression a bit more.

yea there stock mustangs here.. nuttin big out here on the bay area.... idk what to do with this motor...  a buddy gave me a 383 bb with 727.  idk if it is possible to put that motor in the charger without changing the k member or modifying stuff... and suggestions?

Sho nuff, but why fight a 383 when you could have a 440? Just figuring on the biggest and baddest right out the gate then, you wouldn't have to worry bout any "Stock" mustang...With Shumacher Services, and the conversion motor mounts, it would be a "Bolt  in" swap...

All that talk about bigger suspension and T-Bars isn't really nessesary unless you simply can't handle 500 Plus HP and want ot go Canyon Carving with it....I'm running a 505 C.I. 440 stroker in a '68 Dart with the stock 6 Cyl. t-Bars and while it doesn't carve the road up, it will give you fits at stop lights....
