Boosters in finally

New booster showed up.

and the master as well.




Now all that is left is the bleeding process and that will hopefully be completed tomorrow.

got the bench bleed part done tonight.

I'm beat and have to be up early for work

at least the hard parts done.

Need warm sucessful brake test thoughts for tomorrow.

70charginglizard your booster looks like my 71 Charger booster and I am going to convert to disc brakes soon. Can I use the same booster? Someone already put a disc brake MC as it looks like your also. Thanks for the info, glad you got yours the way you want it.

I cant claim victory just yet with the booster I put in there. I got it from NAPA and according to them it's the appropriate booster for a 69-70 front disk/rear drum set up. Which usually means that it's the thicker dual diaphram design I believe.

I still have to bleed the system and take it out for a ride to see if this one is actually going to work properly for my SSBC disk brake system I just have put in recently.

I'll have to get back with you and let you know. K

Cars up. Tires are off. Master is topped off. Bleader wrenches are ready to turn.

Only thing I'm lacking is a bleeder buddy.

Ironic....I finally get someone to help me get the brakes bled out and it's raining outside like a SOB.

Not funny for you I know, but I had to chuckle when I read your post. Typical earth life I'd say. Maybe tomorrow things will dry off so you can take it out.

Well....I finally got it out this morning and I've come to a conclusion about my brake system.

ITS A PAIN IN THE ASS!

Booster boot is leaking on the inside because I'm getting that "Pst" sound everytime I hit the brakes.  

I just cant win.

And to top it all off I stop at Ace hardware to pick up some screws and things and when I come out a damn seagull craps a huge one all over the back end of the car. Roof, rear and side window, rear 1/4 panel and rear deck.

This has not been a good day.


The brakes are responsive now though so I supose thats a good sign but that new booster I put in is probably going to have to come back out again to deal with the boot on the inside.  That means pulling off the master cylinder and dealing with all the crap it takes to pull that booster back out. Grrrr!


and to top this all off there is something up with the six pack. I'm having some kind of surging up and down issue at freeway speeds and sometimes (not always but sometimes)) when coming up to stop lights the idle goes down too much and the car wants to die.

think I should have just stayed in bed this morning.

Yeah a little more progress. It all seems to takes time patience and $.....I did finally win (from e-bay) a correct mopar bendix booster core to send off for rebuild. Once that is done I will pull this other napa one back out and swap over the correct one. Hopefully this will eleviate the surging issue on the six pack.
If not at least it will look right...lol
