I just picked up a set of 15" slots on ebay for my 70, the rears are 8.5" wide with a 3 5/16 backspace and the fronts are 7.5" wide with a 3 3/4 backspace. So what is the widest I can safely go as far as tire size?

Those poor tires don't have a chance with all that power your throwing at them!!!

terrible one

With that backspacing Ill bet 275 will be your limit in the rear and even then it's close

I just picked up a set of 15" slots on ebay for my 70, the rears are 8.5" wide with a 3 5/16 backspace and the fronts are 7.5" wide with a 3 3/4 backspace. So what is the widest I can safely go as far as tire size?

Are these rims 8.5" front to back, or 8.5" on the inside (9.5" front to back) :popcrn:
I know... stupid question, but I have to ask anyway... leave no stone unturned and all that

8.5" on the inside

Musicman

You'll have to take some measurements to see what you can actually fit in there, but just remember that the 3-5/16 backspace on your 8.5's is pushing your rim 1.5" closer to the lip of the wheel well.

So I'm seeing alot of 255/60 and maybes for 275/60 in the rear, what about the fronts would 255 probly be the max?

That would be a cool little tool if you could adjust the red lines to match your actual wheel opening, to bad it doesn't...

According to that tool my tires won't fit, which they obviously do...

I still prefer the old method using a straight edge, a tape measure, and the available tire information.
