need some professional help with this one, car came with V88 stripe delete option but has both the emblems and stripe on original paint.did they ever come with both?

Troy

No, but it seems to be a popular addition since almost every one I see at local shows has both.

Troy
Sarcasm detector, that's a real good invention.

Haven't ever seen one come from the factory that way. However like Troy said, lately a lot of peple have been adding both to their cars. Which to me if the car was a factory V88 car isn't a big deal. However if the car origionally had a stripe, then punching holes in the fender to add an emblem that doesn't belong isn't something I"d do.

There is an A4 silver RT/SE about a mile from me that the owner did just that. It was supposed to have a black stripe, he added the emblems. Then again he removed the vinyl top as well, and changed the color to. So to each their own.

Chris G.

I also think you need to use the '70 stripe when doing this conversion. I think Brian S. did the badge over stripe on his black car? I like the look myself.

69_500

Now if you use the 70 stripe it does bring out the emblem more. But I am still on the fence about liking it or disliking it.

When I was restoring my Charger it was a tough decision on whether to keep the V88 stripe delete or go with a stripe. It really came down to the last minute and I am now glad I decided to stay with the emblems and no stripe. If the car would have came with a with a white vinyl top from the factory I likely would have went with a white stripe to compliment the R6 red though. I think that is one of the best looking color combos.

I too am on the fence with the stripe and emblem combo. I think it looks fine but, not if you are after a "factory" look.

694spdRT I think you made the right choice. I saw your car at a show and its stunning. Looks great without the stripe.

Forgot to mention in the last post I am interested in one of the DVD's when it is done. I think I saw your red 500 with white interior at the 2004 Mopar Nats...that was also the year you bought it right?

As others have stated not both from the factory.  Like in the emails, its posssible that the car came through with either one and the customer wanted the other option.

My R/T was also stripe delete but I opted for the stripe.......I do have a set of NOS emblems just in case! ;)

Yeah I took my 500 to the Mopar nationals in 2004 and 2005. In 2004 I was parked in   the Charger display next to Jim's survivor Daytona. I tried all weekend long to trade him cars to no avail.

Then this year at the Mopar Nationals I parked next to Gene and his Truck and Car. Well and Jerry had his HEMI 500 there on Friday and Saturday next to us. He didn't get it out of the trailer on Sunday.

Your car would look great with the R/T emblems Chris. Maybe you should opt to take off the stripe, repaint the car in Green, and put the emblems back on it.

THE CHARGER PUNK

wouldnt you just use a 69 stripe to use the r/t cut-out to where to correctly place the R/T emblem??-MATT

Charger4404spd

Mine is V88 also and I have debated as to remove the stripe and add the emblems.

69_500

Not really an inside joke.
wouldn't you like to see Chris's Charger in say F8 Green instead of it current color's?

Chris's car was R6 originally so I thought one of you guys had a green phobia I didn't know about.  ;)

Correct!   R6 it was and will be again some day after I hit the Lottery!  I think Danny is "green" with envy :)

Nah I just figured if he was going to repaint it one day I didn't figure he would go with R6, so why not F8 green. I mean who paints their cars F8 Green, unless they came that way from the factory right?

Right, just like this guy  www.69hemi.com   :icon_smile_big:

69_500

Then again I might just be green with envy that his car is SOOOO much nicer than mine. It is an absolute stunning car.

rare69
