old driveshaft replacement

Cleaned up the old driveshaft and painted it but the corrosion and pits made me feel a little uneasy. At what point do you look at replaceing them? The origional 383 is up to 400+ on torque and HP and gears have gone to 3.55.

I've only replaced them after I've bent them.    How rusty and pitted are we talking here?

Around here just about all are rusty and pitted!
