What is causing my engine to lean about one degree to the passenger side?  I had the mounts replaced last year when chasing a vibration and I don't remember noticing it before then.  The mounts appear to be fine and I don't think they can be installed wrong,  I don't get it.  Bob

Magnetic degree thingy from NAPA I used to set the pinion angle.  I put it on both the oil and tranny pans, both of which are new and got the same reading.  It's easily noticable when looking under the hood.  Bob

1 degree?
13.53 @ 105.32   :smilielol:  That'll do it every time...Especially with a 4 gear..

Must be all that neck snapping torque

Start doing hard throttle starts in reverse....that will settle the other mount into position

TylerCharger69

My 383  has that same lean to it....mounts are fine....I dunno.....it brings a good question!!

OK then.  I guess the Chinese rubber just settles in place after being mashed down from a little bit of power applied to it?  Bob

Probably my guess as well...you got a torque strap on engine?

RECHRGD

No torque strap.  But no slicks either,  Mostly just a street driven car.  Bob

It's probably just the rubber settling...may be nothing that can be done

firefighter3931

Nothing to worry about Bob....when you hammer the throttle the engine tries to lift on the driver side while compressing the passenger side biscuit. The rubber is just slightly compressed....nothing more.  ;)

Just swap mounts from side to side every month to make them even  :D

Sublime/Sixpack

Both my Bee and the Charger do the same thing, slight lean to the right. Nothing to worry about.

Maybe in a former life that block was a slant six.  Have you considered that deep regression hynosis therapy for it?

mauve66

i thought maybe it was caused by the OD vibration........................

extra room in the bolt holes in the mounts , with no torque strap it will pull up on the left side , loosen the bolt & it may settle level again

WOW!  Good to hear from you Neil!  I'll check that out.  Thanks.  Bob

I'm thinking loosen the big nuts underneath, and shift the motor where you want it.  The holes in the K-frame are slotted, aren't they?
