For most of the reasons you just listed... I was "raised" around these cars... And knew, since I was 10, what I wanted...

 your threads are funny.

I like the overall enginering of the B-body in general especially the 68-70 Generation they are just such stout and strong cars. The Torsion bar suspension and the Unibody the cowl from door hinge to door hinge the entire firewall stamping is a thing of beauty... To Me.  :shruggy:
Of course the style is pretty sweet too, there's something sexy about the hips of the Second Gen Chargers where the body flares out around the tires and the profile with the tunnel back roof that gives it the long hood short deck like a pony car - but is so much more successful then the GM intermediates of the same time frame like the 66/67 GTO and Chevelle.
Then,.. there's the surface detailing, the faux air ducts, the little ducktail, the subtle character lines that define the lower rockers and the complex multi-angles of the door that defines the double diamond. I love the way the front of the hood has the slight rounded peak and the way the fenders gently dip on top down to the hood.
Nothing short of a automotive masterpiece.
The other factor that makes the Charger my Favorite is the content and the details, like the dashboard design, the deeply recessed grill and lights the way the bumpers contour over the licence plate and wrap up into the edges in back and form the gradual slope into the front and rear facias...
OK, Hang on, I gotta go take a shower..  :-\

Style, power and sound.  To be honest, I love GTO's, 69 Camaro's, vettes, and many more, but the 2nd gen charger has a awesome style in every panel on the car.

Theres just somethin "different" about us mopar guys. I dont think any other group of enthusiasts are as passionate about their cars as we are.

:iagree:

that and it's not easy to do a mopar. Thats another reason I did it.

If it were easy to do then everyone would have one. (camero's and mustangs...prime example)

My love for chargers is their body.. They are possibly the Sexiest car to come out of the 1960s and mated with the Engines they had they are just the car! Every single line of the car flows beautifully and there isn't another car like it out there.. :Twocents:

68-70 Mopars make the ford and GM muscle crowd really nervous  :yesnod:

i grew up in my 73 SE, huge start there.  but I just love everything about it.. its lines, its sound, the simplicity of the engineering, and yet it is overly effective in its purpose.  And it works great when pulled all together.

The charger to me is a symphony of beautifully engineered and moving mechanical parts that evokes happiness to a gearhead, like an opera will evoke emotions to women (and some men :D ).  No other car has created an opus like the charger, and none ever will.

Styling and image.

Yep, without that they're just another B body Mopar. (not sayin' that's bad)
Pardon me but my karma just ran over your dogma.

for me its the 2nd gen styling round the rear window & tail panel (and the loop bumper on the 70)  :coolgleamA:

never can see why people get wet in the crotch over the 69 c500. that rear window plug looks shit!  :brickwall: (yeah i know theyre rare blah blah)

I'm no 500 expert by any means, but to me it's the race history of the car that is so special. Also the amount of work that is needed to convert a 500 or Daytona clone to look like a original 500 is no easy task at all.  I love both fastback lines.

It has to be the nascar history. When I was growing up,my bestfriend was Dick Brooks nephew so every sunday at his house we either listened to the races on the radio
or watched it on tv.Then when I was about 7 or 8 I noticed a cool looking car in the neighborhood with a gas cap on the rear fender. That's when it all started.

First time I saw a second generation Charger was on the Dukes of Hazzard, then a few years later my brother in law imported a '69 from "The States" to The Netherlands and took me for a ride. I then knew I had to have one... and now I got two.

RamchargerMopar

The Dukes hands down is the reason I love these cars. I will never restore one to a General lee but to have a sexy blue with white stripe 440 Charger would rock my world.

yeah the orig. c500 cars are interesting for thier uniqueness/rareity. you cant really say they look as good/better though.

totally for aerodynamics. an engineers car where the standard body would be the architects car  :drool5:

:yesnod: Me too!

The Charger is the only car I can walk around and no matter what part of the car I am looking at I get this surreal (out of body experience) every single time even if the car is sitting motorless in the driveway.

My two favorite cars of all time are the 68 Charger and the 70 Cuda. The Cuda doesn't give me that surreal feeling and doesn't always look great unless you are standing at the right angles. No matter the condition or the angle the Charger always sends chills down my spine from any view.

The most notable and strongest feature that I love is that recessed Grille. No other car successfully pulled off the whole full front end grille no headlight look (Cougar, Camaro, and all others don't even come close).

I grew up watching reruns of the Dukes of Hazzard. Not sure what it was but I wanted a General Lee. Now when people ask me why I like Chargers I just say "because they're so damn sexy". Just the lines and everything are PERFECT (especially on 2nd gens :icon_smile_big:)

I had that 68 brochure as a kid and lost it. :slap:  Not looking for trouble as the Charger is my all time favorite car, but the Hideaway 69 GTO or 69 RS Z/28 Camaro along with the older vettes are pretty cool looking also, but the Charger is perfect on every single panel, front to back, bottom to top.  :2thumbs:

Back N Black

I agree, visually the Charger looks awesome, but i do not like the electrical system, where they route the power through the amp gage and you always got to have extra voltage regulators and orange box on hand. I don't like how quarter glass and door glass fit together. The vehicle tends to twist and crack the body panels when torque applied and its as aerodynamic as a Brick. But i'm sure other muscle cars have issues also.
