will a 400 distributor work in a 383

I have a 400 motor that is a 75 with electronic ignition. I am pretty sure that a 400 distributor will fit in a 383 but I just want to make sure. The 383 is a 67. Thanks

Yes, the 350-361-383- and 400 are all "low deck" or "B" motors and the parts will interchange, so the dist. will work...

Did you know a small block distributor WILL WORK in a pinch in a B motor, but won't rev up past around 2500 RPM cause the weights sling out backwards to the rotation of the big block, but it will run it long enough to get you home....

 I put a 383 points dist in a 400 once so yeah it'll work. There both B blocks.
Still looking for 15x7 Appliance slotted mags.....
