Coach Dungy BETTER NOT rest his starters, I SAY!

I know Tony Dungy is contemplating keeping Peyton, Edge and the other great starters on the bench before the playoffs begin- but what a HUUUUUGGGGGGEEEEEEEE mistake THAT would be!

Why do I feel that way you ask?

The reason is rather simple.  The momentum the Colts have as they approach the playoffs is obvious.  I think that if Coach Dungy would take his "foot off the gas", just for the sake of the resting his starting grid and keep them safe is downright erroneous thinking.  The Colts would begin to slow down and loose their edge at a critical time.

The Colts "juggernaught" is rolling forward, full steam ahead.  To back off now, could very well mean that all bets are off for a perfect season and history as a result right before the playoffs.

Coach Dungy has a HELLUVALOT to contemplate this week.  I pray, as hard as he does, that he makes the right choice and keeps working his starters all the way to Detroit on February 5th!!!!

That's how CONFIDENT I am.  This is our year- no doubt about it.

All the pregame shows speak now of one word for the Colts;

DESTINY

I couldn't agree more.

The evidence says otherwise. Look at the Eagles last year. They say nearly everyone the last couple of weeks and rolled through the playoffs and into the Super Bowl.

The fact is, if Indy wins out and then loses in the playoffs, this season is a massive choke and disappointment.

Which do you think is more important?

Do you really  think its Destiny? I think they are a darn good team this year, but Destiny is a stretch if you ask me.

Yeah they are doing great. But if he doesn't rest them, and say Edge tears his ACL in the last game of the season against Arizona how would you feel?

With regards to Destiny...I'm simply repeating what most of the pre-game annoucers are saying.  Nothing more.

I still think resting the starting grid would be much more hazardous than not.  Call me crazy, but that's what I think.  It's not just for the sake of the record book now- it's for the forward momentum.  Denver is a classic case in point from a few years back.

The are a timing team. Their whole offense depends on being in sync with each other. So I think resting them would also be a mistake. But then again I don't think you play them the entire game for the last few weeks either. You want them healthy, and you want them still in sync with each other. So I say if he decides to rest his starters he play them for the first half of the last 2 games. That keeps them fresh and then gives them time to rest as well.

I could agree with that 69.  Let them get more points on the board than the opposing team, then let the starting grid rest in the fourth quarter, if not before.

Even if they were trailing at the half I'd sit the starters after hafltime in the last 2 weeks. If they are 14-0 going into the Seattle game they have nothing to gain and nothing to lose.
