Thanks.I figured if anyone owned such a rare Bobby Isaac vintage race car car they probably owned the vintage sheetmetal from it.

What vintage sheet metal?    I did not see any in those photo albums you posted up.    Are you talking about the Isaac decklid farthur up the thread.   Those aren't Tim's.   I am confused.

Dont know the story behind this piece .Other than I mentioned and assumed it was Tims as he owns the actual race car.And Aero 426 said he owns no such Isaac sheetmetal. At that time he probably didnt? But according to the MCG story now he does .This memorabilia ended up in good hands to be preserved :Twocents: :2thumbs: :2thumbs:

Dave, the hanging decklid does not belong to Tim.   It doesn't have anything to do with the stuff that showed up on Craigslist.

Tim did eventually buy the #71 Riverside quarter panel and door panel for display in the museum.     The story is the parts were taken to the local dump near the K & K shop.    Either they were fished out of the dump very quickly, or "wink wink" never made it all the way in.    The race fan who scooped them up hung onto them all these years and advertised them on CL.    They are great pieces.   There's no telling which particular car they from, other than one that ran at Riverside.

A great find, and of all the people to wind up with it I'm glad it was Tim W. The great collection of cars that he already has will now have yet another great piece of history hanging close by.

Hopefully when I get down there next month I will be able to get some pics of them.  They look fantastic.

One of the potential buyers reportedly was a memorabilia dealer who wanted to cut them up into little squares and sell them.

OMG....I am so glad Tim got 'em then because that would have made me sick to hear if that happened.   :brickwall:

I assume the seller knew what he had and Tim had to pay a pretty penny for it, huh?

Man, I wish that I could stumble on a deal like that on Craig's List!
I love the smell of nitro in the morning.
