Here is where I am at with the resto. Had a few issues to figure out, when going to the Hemi, Power steering, wiper motor etc. When dropping the body over the engine & tranny like in the factory, do the valve covers have to come off the Hemi to clear the inner fenders. Getting closer for this but I am waiting for manifolds and lower pully. Also my rear window has some scratches in it, any luck in getting them buffed out or do I go to a new one? Rob.

Here's what we did with my former '68 Hemi Charger R/T.......   I would personally leave the valve covers off.. Man, it was tight enough as it was without them.......  But, my situation went in in about 15 to 20 minutes once started..
I would probably get those exhaust manifolds, the tranny dipstick tube and if you're going to use them, the intake heat crossover tubes.....

Also, any reason you're using the normal B/RB fuel pump and not the Carter version which 426 Hemi's came with?

Also, is that T5 Copper or T7 Bronze? Looks to be Copper but there's a lot of yellow in the picture......

There are a few items that I will change to make it more proper as I go like (fuel pump).  This is my first Hemi install so I have a lot to learn, takes a lot of time to research every detail and how to simulate original especially a wing car. But that makes it exciting. This car was a basket case when I got it so it has been quite a puzzle. I do refer many items to my S. Bird helps a lot, with nose cone, wing etc. Always open to positive suggestions though. Thanks Rob.

Looks like you have a lift - It needs to be a two post. A 4-post wont clear the width a K-Frame.
The Hemi in my X went in complete except alternator - It will hit the frame rail. Have the H-Pipe on with all the heat tubes hooked-up beforehand as they are a bit@# after - especially if they are re-pops. I even had the rad in and fan on (a really good idea on a wing car). The valve covers are no problem - if the car is power steering that gets really close. You need a 2-post and a lot of sets of eyes everywhere and you will be fine. Every original installed back glass I have ever seen has scratches - I think Creative got too close with the sanders.

Hemi 68 it is T5. Maxwell I was planning on lifting the body on the 2 post hoist in the other shop, this way I can lower it straight down. The rear window has got some sharp scratches that look like keys scraping ice in the winter. Don't think it is from Creative. Is there a good rear window reproduction out there.  Thanks for the replies and feed back. I just put the dash in today.Rob.

Can't wait to see that color in the sun! Not many T5 hemi-autos out there.

Magnum I would love to have it at New Hamburg, but it will not be done in time. 2011 it will be there. My shop lights give off a yellow look in the pictures but the T5 does look good. Even my non car friends like the color. Rob.

Those before pictures show resemblance to the the 414635 pitures similar cars and colors?

This is car 414635 I saw 10 years ago in Montreal before it was sold to a guy in western Ontario who then sold it to someone in the US.These are not the pics I took of the car but it is the car.Car was VERY rough with no motor or trans but it did come with the fender tag.The wing in the pic is not white but raw aluminum.

Nascar xx29 the picture you posted is of my car, but it was never in Montreal. It was bought at Dartmouth Dodge in Nova Scotia and never left N.S. Also my vin is 414651 and I do have the original trans. So may be the picture you got was mixed up wth a different car. Rob.

Got the Hemi in this afternoon. Tight fit with valve covers on but went well. Was handy to have 4 guys to keep an eye out for alignment. Rob.

Those 4 in the picture helped me roll it in last night. I had the boys over today for the install. Rob.

I have had my son and/or my wife help me many times for an engine drop. They listen better and don't drink all my beer after.
