Did Chargers ever come from the factory with an inside hood release? I saw one listed on ebay for a 2nd gen.  :shruggy:

73/4 I believe as well.

My 73 has both an inside and outside hood release. The inside one is broken and im thinking they used an outside one from an earlier 3rd gen.

Not a lot of cars did at that time.  Personally I think the 2nd gens didn't have them for the same reason the 67's didn't, and my personal guess for that is that people didn't like the feature a whole lot when it was introduced on the 66. :shruggy:

I kind of like the fact now adays that people cant just open your hood if its on the street...though i never had that come across yet, never the less. The good thing is (im not sure if its the same for the other years) but the outside hood release is very difficult to find on a 3rd gen unless you know where it is, blends in very well.

Here's an idea for an inside hood release for those who don't have one....

Find one of the electric trunk releases and put it in place of the release mechanism up front...hide the push-button somewhere inside the car...no handle or lever to see inside...

Like I said...was an idea

Just a thought, if your battery dies and you need to jump the car how would you open the hood?...

Friend of mine has that exact issue with his mustang. He simply bought a charger that runs through the cigarette lighter, does the trick.
