When I paint plastic parts that are not sanded I usually don't use any primer but for some of the grillepieces which are sanded up to 2000 grit maybe it's
necessary or? Any thoughts? :scratchchin:

I would do it.

The only area I don't like to prime is when it's a high, small, detail area where even a light extra coat of paint(the primer in this case) may conceal some of the detail.

This is not the case with the grill.

I never have and paint has stuck well over the years, but I am no expert!  :2thumbs:

For plasic pieces...not necessarily grille pieces which have smooth surfaces, but like interior pieces that have a texture, I would use a spray on adhesion promoter as opposed to primer.  and...of course clean really well with prep-all or like product before hand.  You really don't want the primer to "fill in" the texture

defenitly use an adhesion promoter, it will save alott of time & redo
