I need to get an electric fuel pump for a "boost" on start up. When the car sits for a while it is hard to start because the carbs. bleed down. Which one is quieter and better? The Carter 4594 or the Holley red pump? This is going on a sixpack if that makes a difference.

Ricky....go with the Mallory 110. It is the quietest pump out there !

Does the 110 require a bypass/return style regulator?

Nope...it's self regulated, just bolt on & go  :2thumbs:

Hey Ron, what about a constant-use pump to feed a 500 horse engine?  Something that isn't super loud.
Remember the average response time to a 911 call is over 4 minutes.

The average response time of a 357 magnum is 1400 FPS.

Can't you just put a check valve in the fuel line? :shruggy:

The Mallory 110 would work fine in that application but my preference is allways towards a mechanical pump if possible. I've had great results with the Carter HV mechanical street pump ; 120gph and self regulated at 6psi. It'll move enough fuel for 600hp.  :2thumbs:

Just for take off and landing...Sorry ,wrong vehical...Want to use the electric pump for priming the carb and as a booster on occasional track days.

I've never done it but know some that have...sucessfully. The mechanical pump will work fine with the electric turned off. But i have to say that there's no need for an electric with the Carter HV. Mine runs great with the Carter street pump.  :2thumbs:

Thanks Ron. I agree the carter mechanic pump delivers enough fuel. Just annoying cranking the engine until the carb gets refilled after sitting for a few days and the gas has evaporated.
