what?

http://hartford.craigslist.org/cto/1591261534.html

Ok, does he have it confused with a 69 Charger 500,
or a 70 Charger RT/SE?

I am not trying to pick on this one guy,
just in general stuff like this.

"AND TOO ALL THE FOOLS THAT THINK THEY KNOW EVERTHING ABOUT CARS AND WHAT THERE WORTH "

I am sooo sick of the "I know what its worth" line, which now to me means they do not.

maybe I am the crazy one, but I am not seeing many 70 RTs sell at that price.

hemi68charger

Nope... The ad could be correct with it's description of a '70 Charger 500 SE
In 1970, the "500" designation went from the special NASCAR version (XX) to a regular production line model along with the base Charger and R/T. The A47 "SE" option package could be ordered on the baseline (XH), 500 (XP) or R/T (XS) models...

That is what I meant- dead on with your quote-
does he think the value of a 69 500 has anything to do with his 70 500.

I get a 69 500 being worth his price,
and I get a 70 rt/se being worth a lot,
but don't get a 70 500/se as being all that valuable. (in comparison- I would not kick one out of the garage for leaking oil by any means.)

skip68

In todays market I'm sure he IS willing to sell it at $50,000.....     :smilielol:    By the way, if anyone want's a GL, I'm WILLING to sell my GENERAL LEE for $125,000.    :icon_smile_wink:

I like how everything's numbers matching except the motor and trans.

bull

Guys like this guy know everything and everyone else knows nothing. That's fine; it will never sell. :shruggy:

There's a guy just like this in my area. He's had a 68 Charger in need of a full resto for sale at $14k off and on for the past two years or so. Of course no one wants it because he's asking about twice what it's worth. He is undeterred though. Every other month or so it's back on CL for $14k and he never does a thing to it.

rick.d

Where the hell did he come up with the number of 408? Last time i checked there were over 7,000 70 500s made, both 383 2bbl and 383 magnum each.

nakita7

He obviously has no intention an selling it. Yes, there are 500 SE cars, had a chance to buy one.

skip68

They made 1970 Charger 500's with 318's as well.   A 1970 Charger 500 is a nothing base model car.   :rotz:   All the 500 is , is a trim package.    :slap:   I would like to know what his engine build is.  He claims it to be 575 HP....    :shruggy:   Somebody here should email him and ask what the build is.  If it has factory intake and factory exhaust, i don't think the heads are going to give it 200 horse power.    :smilielol:

well... he misspells "to" three times, there is no punctuation and everything is in Caps Lock... perhaps he's expecting to be called on his rather obvious BS.
It simply can't be "restored" if the engine is swapped and the color changed...

kind of confrontational and not someone I'd want to due bizniss with...

so, if he's changed the drivetrain and color it actually isn't one of 408 made anymore is it?..  :shruggy:
BTW: i see no evidence of any Special Edition trim on the car.
great shot of the engine to...

Talking about the first one in topic,70 500 se for 50K.

ACUDANUT

Brock, having the Drivetrain with matching numbers is 99 percent of it being restored IMO.  You could always have it repainted to the "correct color".  Changing colors is not hard.  Finding the Matching Number drivetrain is almost impossible, once they are seperated. BUT, his price is CRAZY.

Brock Samson

  well there aCudanut...
I was also wondering. if you'd increase the power of the car without also making the nessesary changes to the torsion bars and such. any car with nearly 600 HP better have disc brakes. no mention of a dyno sheet either...
:scratchchin:  Hmmm?... any evidence of S.E. stuff like the interior trim?.. like wood dash or chrome pedals how about the sail panel plaque?..
a '69 500 stripe on a '70?..
See?.. all he had to say was "Restified" universally accepted as being the correct term... For a car modified to an owners' tastes...
for that Money he better be correct in his discription.
and much better photos, who knows how old those are...  :shruggy:

Follow that?.......all of the sentence fragments, misspelled words, inaccurate or simply BS descriptions of his "end all-be all fully restored" 69/70? Charger 500 SE 1 of whatever boomshakalaca mopar. I'm certainly not the best writer but I gotta call a turd a turd. Just my disjointed thoughts. Can't follow a train thats left the station.

By the way, while interest is strong elsewhere, I'm offering all DC members an honest deal on a slightly used genuine Sears steel wheel barrow WITH inflated tire for only $5k. First come, first served.

Why would you want anything else?  Just give me a Charger and I'll be happy.

Akron_Charger

hmm...does that mean the bondo matches up with the price on the receipt?  :D

THE STIG

Maybe his wife hates it and made him sell it, but he dosen't want to sell it so he's asking a ridiculas price. That's a great sales tactic though, list somthing for sale and in your description insult any potential buyers. On that note I'd like to add that I'm selling my 70 Charger 500, are any of you stupid idiots in this crappy forum for jerks interested?
