When your Charger is sideways, just give it more gas!

skip68

I would look at a Dart, Duster or 3rd generation Charger.   It really depends on your budget.

if you look around you will be able to find a clean used 6 cyl dart, and then when you same some money you can upgrade to a small block and really have fun with it

you already have the black 69 Charger R/T and you looking for another Mopar and your only 13?  :shruggy:

69chargerrt440

i cant have the 69 charger as a daily driver unless that runs better on airplane fuel, i cant aford the airplane fuel.

Ghoste

If you can't afford the fuel for a free car that is finished you aren't going to be any better off buying a project that requires cheaper fuel.  You might be better off selling the Charger and getting a slant six Dart that doesn't require any work.

69chargerrt440

sorry im not selling a $50,000 car that my dad built and gave to me.  :rotz:

Wait im confused here...

You have a charger that was given to you...done. You want another car because???

But i see one problem here...you cant DRIVE!!!

If you want a project all to yourself than thats awesome, but at 13 what money do you have? Honestly? Im sorry but i can barely afford to keep my car running and im 21...its damn tough restoring a car at 21.

Im not trying to shun you but get your priorities in order. Finish up school, go to HS, go to college...than get a car..or by than you could be driving the charger.

I got my first project T-Bird a couple of years ago while i was finishing up HS and going to college...that didnt work...sold it. Actually made money on it and afforded the charger. Went through a couple of jobs in college, made enough to start working on the charger. Now i would be in my last months of college but because i got hired for an awesome job, im going to probably finish within a year. Ill be making more than enough cash to pay the bills and restore the charger.

Working 40+ hours a week and going to school full time was damn tough

Dont get mixed up, school first man. Keep your priorities straight.

elacruze

I haven't forgotten how I felt at 13.

Don't worry about getting a car just yet, since you can't drive it anyway. Go to school, get good grades, and save your money. Buy a car with the money you saved after you have a licence to drive it with, you'll get a better car then anyway. Until then, just sit back and watch, read, and learn.

After you have saved up some more money...

from the two jobs you are going to have...

(because you are ambitious and have an unlimited work ethic)...

you'll be able to get a high mileage but solid Duster...

with a nice slant six or 318...

to bust your knucles on...

and learn how to turn a wrench.

Life will be good. :2thumbs:

Then save up and buy this Duster....

Maybe pull the engine out of the Charger and drop a 318 in there and later when you can afford it put the big block in the car.  :2thumbs:

lisiecki1

^ That sounds like the best and most affordable option.  You could put a decent stock 318 in that car for 1500 - 2000...

This sounds really stupid but why worry about driving a car or what engine he should get in a car when he cant drive?

Work on a few good sets of gym shoes to get you around until then. My Dad tells me regularly to quit buying projects when I have one . Save the cash and work on the Charger when you have the time and money. As you get older, you are going to have less and less of both.

Enjoy your youth and dont try to press everything.
