Does anyone else have trouble finding radiators that fit?

When I got my 1973 Plymouth Satellite running several years ago I had to recore the old radiator because NO ONE could find one like the Chrysler factory one that was in it.  The upper ad lower cooling tanks were salvaged from my old one (I never felt comfortable with that) but this only lasted about three years before the upper tank cracked.  I took the car to a mechanic and after a 2 day search (and several incorrect raditors that were not even close) he found a NOS aftermarket all-metal construction one sitting on some dealers shelf somewhere.  If not for this stroke of luck I do not know what I would have done because the auto parts stores always had ones that were not even close. WHY is it so hard to find radiators that fit at the parts stores?  The store computer will say that they fit, but when they arrive they are the incorrect size and shape.  These radiators should be little or no different than the ones on the Dodge Chargers, so is anyone else having these issues?

Well, I got a brand new, Hencho en Mexico ,4 core OEM style radiator for my 73 D200 for like $150 from Advanced Auto.

Personally, for any of my performance units I don't even bother with the factory stuff. $600 for a OEM look a like aluminum unit is rediculous, IMO, especially when you can find ones that will fit and perform just as well for under $150.

I appreciate the link to the radiator business, but I never could have afforded that.  I was LUCKY they found the NOS aftermarket one that they did.

Just got my new radiator looks and fits just like original. They build them on order and there are lots of choices of material and configuration. And not really that expensive, much cheaper than the big name performance parts places. Nice folks to talk to.
