yeah, they need machine work.. doesnt scare me as I have a machine shop that has absolutely no issues finishing these puppies off for me.

I have estimated that with everything said and done (i.e. all machine work and installation of hardware) I will have around $900 in these total.  That is a price of 440 source heads without the issues (I have quality hardware already).

Be interesting to find who makes these
What grade of material is in them
how much they are going to grow from cold to warm   expansion  the 440 source ones grow more then the Eddy's
If the flow rate is roughly the same as the above ones

By the time you have all the machine work and good Stainless valves in, it would be interesting to see how much money you have in them    :popcrn: :popcrn: :popcrn:

i didn't see where it said stage VI on anything, i would be worried that someone is selling out of spec stuff out the back door like the 4spd top plates we've seen.  hope everything goes good for you though.  would be interesting to see how many get sold this way.  this would stop the individual mark up on all the bits and pieces when you get them pre-assembled i guess...............

Really?  Definitely some of their heads are sold as bare and even described as such in the MP catalog.

As long as the heads check out fine that's a great deal Jamey.  :2thumbs:

Before you spend any money on them have them pressure tested....the early VI heads had porosity issues. The assembled heads were noted for terrible machinework as well....valvestem heights all over the place.  :P

*that won't be an issue for you because the seats haven't been cut yet and hopefully your machinist does a better job than whoever used to do them for Mopar Performance.  :scratchchin:

The VI's are nice heads and the big advantage is you can use an RB manifold on a B block with these castings. If you use them on an RB block then you'll need the spacers. MP also makes a few manifolds that are a direct bolt-on using these heads on an RB block and those have a cast-in valley pan so you don't need the stock turkey pan. Lots of options depending on the build.  :yesnod:

I'd be interested in seeing some flow #'s as well as chamber & port volumes on those.  :scope:

will do Ron!  thanks for the update.  I will let you know after I get all the work done.  I will be running a tunnel ram on these so I will be getting the spacers for them, so turkey pan it is :D  I am hoping to have them out of the shop by May or June.. but who knows.. I may win the lottery (yeah right).  I will get all the numbers to you when they arrive.

Hey Jamey, did a little searching and found this thread on another board : http://www.dodgecoronet.com/forum/showthread.php?p=94235

It's 2nd or 3rd hand information but from the sounds of things you have some descent castings in your posession  :2thumbs:

You can probaly get more information on the MP tech line as these are older castings and don't show up in the current catolog  ;)

woohoo! great news.. when you brought up the issues of porosity.. I kinda got worried to be honest.  Glad it shows they are the decent ones.  Still awaiting for them to show up so I can get some better pictures to post with measurements in their pre-machined state.  Might be a good tech article when all is said and done.

It still wouldn't hurt to have them pressure checked & magnafluxed before dropping any extra cash into them.  ;)

Tech article sounds great !  :2thumbs:

I'm gonna move this to the performance section  :icon_smile_big:

I just checked a 2005 catalog and found a number of heads available bare.
