Hope you find what your looking for .Ever try to find you dads old daytona.Any description pictures or info that may uncover its where abouts. 69 500 was sucessfull in relocating most of his dads old daytonas

Yes, I have found two Daytonas that are more in line with what my late father had when he bought his new. If I can get a few extra bucks and still get one of these two, then I'll do it. So far, both are still available. The extra money will go help the family ( Daddy and Husband ) financially since bringing my elderly mother in to care for her. We took it on the chin when we took on that responsibility.

Otherwise, it's not going any where. From now on, barring some BAD situation, I will have a Daytona in my garage. In the meantime, I continue to have fun with her and improve her (mostly detail oriented-type of stuff).

Dave..
I remember the car being green, more than likely F8 (?)... Also, since I was about 6 to 8 years of age at the time, don't remember the engine. Back then, he raced Sat. evenings at the former Hialeah Speedway south of Miami. Those are GOOD memories as a young kid in the bleachers and pits. So, a Daytona was the "cool" car to get. Later on, with the responsibility of raising my sister and I on his own, my real mom split on us. The cars back then, were just another car and he sold it to the teenage kid across the street. Fast forward to about '96...In conversation with him with a friend of mine at our local IHOP before he past away, we got to talking about the old Charger. Reinstated it was a Daytona with a manual transmission. He added, "The engine was one of those with two four barrels in line"........  I about died !!!!!!!     At that moment, I felt like Danny I'm sure !!!!

In a Marlon Brando voice, " I could have been a contender !!!!"

I have no documentation, no nothing on the car..........

Troy

PS: apparently people think I'm going to give the thing away........  :smilielol:

Now that would be cool.  :yesnod:  How many F-8 Hemis were built? You probably remember the stripe color maybe. Might narrow it down. Just a thought.

Probably black since I don't remember the stripe and wind "standing" out...

Getting a Daytona has been a life's passion of mine........... So, when the '68 Hemi / '69 C500 trade happened, it was fate.......

Ah well Troy I know I have talked to you about your dad's car before but believe me you felt nothing like I did, as my dad never had a HEMI Daytona. We went to look at quite a few of them when they were for sale but he could never get all the ducks in a row to get one of those. Granted he had daytona's but no HEMI Daytona's.

One day I'll have a daytona too and I'll make sure to bring my dad to a show with me in it, and get a picture. One of these days, one of these days.
