I found the build sheet on this 73 I just bought but it's not in the best shape. What do y'all do to try to keep the build sheet from deteriorating any further?

God must love stupid people; He made so many.

Pu it in an acid-free sheet protector, and then in a binder with all the other important papers on your ride.  :yesnod:

Put it in a clear plastic cover, make a bazillion copies of it, blow it up to poster size and hang it on the wall, then put the original in a fire safe all locked up for safe keeping.

Tilar: that is in fantastic shape! One could not hope for a better pyschodelic piece of history, with all the scars and aging included.  :drool5:

I like the idea of a poster and then store the original in an air tight package.

Eventually the acid in the lamination eats away the sheet from what I've heard. I put one of my Duster's sheets into a picture/document frame and hung it up on my bedroom wall.

I let my kids color on it so the wax in the crayon protects the paper.  :yesnod:

I would at least scan it so there is still a record of it.

Lamination prevents proving the document is not a fake.

I like the color copy placed back in the car idea - cause
there is no way the original is going back under there.

I used mine to light a 3.00 cuban cigar. Mine was only in "good" shape though. And my car is just a numbers matching SE car, nothing special.

Joking of course! I scanned mine and saved in on 2 computers, as well as a cd, just in case something happens to either computer. Its currently sitting  very flat in a file folder, soon to go into a plastic protector.  :2thumbs:

If the sheet is in good shape like your, acid free sleave.

If it is in really bad shape, 50-100 pieces say, laminating may be the only way to go to hold it together.

Laminating in an absolute last resort.  :Twocents:

Both (one from under back seat, good shape, and one from behind glove box, mint shape) are in plastic sleeves in a three ring binder on the shelf at home.

Take it out of the car. Put it in a safe place LIKE inside your Lund fishing boat Owners manual.......Then Have your Ex wife thru it out after you've been kicked out of the house leaving all your worldly possesions behind.   At least thats the story I got on the Charger I purchased last year!!!  :smilielol:

HeavyFuel

That is funny, and kinda sad.   :'(

I'll bet he was hot, and then obviously had to give up the car, too.

XS29J

I did not end up bad. I found another sheet under passenger seat and another under the carpet under the drivers seat side. So that car had 3 build sheets total. And no he did not loose the car but said she tossed all his books on purpose.

I can relate....My wife was on the computer a few months ago, and was re-aranging all of our picture files.  She was upset at the time, apparently didn't like the way I was filing my pics.  Later I went on and asked her where all on my charger pics were.  Her response: "I don't know, I deleted a whole bunch of files."

Must....resist.......the.....urge......to choke........her......neck.......

I found them later, filed somewhere else
