Summit no longer honors "generic" discount codes

I tried using a Summit discount code posted on this website and it didn't work with Summit's online order form. Dug around a little on the internet assuming it was just an old code and found another one said to be good until Aug. of 2010. Still no good. So I called them today and tried to order over the phone and the guy asked me where I got the sales code so I told him I got it online. That's when he told me Summit no longer accepts sales codes and that the only sales code you can use is an individualized one sent to each customer personally in the mail or email. So I guess now their answer to people trying to save money is a big :fu: unless you get your own code.

There are a lot of signs that Summit is feeling the economic pinch, notice how many bulky items that used to ship free are now requiring a surcharge.
Pardon me but my karma just ran over your dogma.

I've never called myself an expert in business so how do take-aways bring in more customers and encourage current customers to spend more money? :shruggy: All I know is that as a customer who's got money to spend, this doesn't make me happy.

I am getting ready to order a set of rims, center caps, and hoses
from them.

I am not registered on their mailing list yet, where can I find a discount code? Or are the discount generally part specific this time of the year?

Also , bull, do you know what they would charge for shipping on an order like that to the PDX area?  I have never ordered from them.

I just ordered a quick fuel metering block block set from them and the discount was a no go. Well I am glad I bought when I did a few months back when they took the codes. A lot of stuff is on back order which makes me think they are not keeping much inventory. The code was a perk and I still will use them as they are the best deal. Jegs has similar prices but I prefer Summits.

You can go through the motions of ordering your stuff to get the shipping charge without actually buying. Put the items you want in your cart and then they'll ask you for your zip code and after you hit "continue" the itemized costs will appear. As far as a discount code, you can't get one unless they send you one in the mail or email according to the guy I talked to yesterday.

Hmm, well those discounts are not custom codes per individual right? Could I use another persons code?

Apparently the codes are user-specific so that the code has to match the info in a specific account. If you knew someone that wasn't using his code he could buy stuff for you but they would probably ship it to him.
