My Nephew's Pinewood Derby wing car.

My nephew asked me last night if I would shape his Pinewood derby car. This is what I came up with. I think its pretty cool.Not like a scale model or anything ,but kinda neat. What do you guys think?

I just started priming it when these pics were taken,It wont be brown! Can anyone guess what color I would like to paint it? Ultimately I will paint it the color Hunter wants it.

I have a wooden Superbird #43 still in the box that was marketed many years ago.  Can't remember the company (not at the house) but they had many different NASCAR racers available.  I believe they use a computer control cutter to make them......they are nice.  Anyone out there have one?

Hey, Pinewood derby is steeped in the tradition of Skunkworks Fathers manufacturing the cars...we did mine (back in..what, 1970? can't remember, I'm elderly) in a shape we saw in a 'Popular Mechanics' wind tunnel article. The car looks like a '90's Olds Aurora.

I can't remember why it was pink, maybe that's the only paint we had around.

mine would have to get a little help due to its age. like antique tags or something. I built it in 1972ish. Ill have to look for it and the trophy I won with it for kicking butt and taking names in my pack and in the (districts?) when I went to the regionals I didnt fare too well. some nitwit dropped the car while trying to pick it up after the big winthat put me into the regionals. my dad was freaking mad I thought he was going to punch the guy. havent seen him that mad too often.
