Thats no joke!  I have watched the P90x commercial and wondered about it.   I thought about getting it but was worried my disc in my lower back wouldnt handle it. Course its not handling me getting fatter all the time either.

Take a picture now and then in 90 days.

I'm 21 and I've been wanting to try it. I lift and run 4 days a week and from what Ive heard its a pretty intense workout, to make you feel better this has been coming from college age kids, one of my friends only lasted a week but then again he never finishes anything...

Rolling_Thunder

friend of mine took me though one of his old CCT workouts...     holy **** -   that sucked hard ones....

Apparently the Marine Corps has fat burning down to an exact science...    my friend should be getting into town in about 9 months...   tells me he'll get me in shape for the "pathetic USAF PT test"

For fun, look up some up the progress YouTube as people go through it. I've heard the Yoga part near the end is the toughest. It seems to be big in the softball community which is where I heard about it. There's a Part 2 (or maybe an advanced version) too.

Ive been hearing that this is for real, unlike a lot of those fad diet/workouts you hear about every now and then (but just like anything, you gotta be willing to put the work in).

I'm tempted to bust out the 3 easy payments of 39.99...

I have seen resellers with it for $50. I bought it but haven't officially started yet (long story regarding my living arrangements).

Or you could buy a "used" set off some slacker who never made it past the first week... ;)

(I say this of course without even trying the first day yet.)

well, i tell ya guys, i just keep thinking about how those other guys became ripped and with an 8 pack set of abs and that is enough motivation for me to try and kill myself doing this program. so i will keep on plugging away taking pictures each week (each day seems overkill) and when I am all done, I will post them on here for all to see me go from flab to fabio ( <---- yeah right!!! LOL )

I know it sounds girly but watch your calories too, burn more than you take in and you are one the right track to loosing flab! also check out mypyramid.gov we used it in class and it has some really cool info and interactive calculators on it.  :yesnod:

There is NO gimmick to P90X and I have affectionately named it the "prison workout". (There was a pro body builder that went in to the prison system to work out with the guys there...they are lean and all muscle...he could barely hack it). The second program is called insanity...I don't care if it takes more than 3 months...and they do send a meal book with the kit. There are also updates and chat groups to keep you motivated. After (age not inclued) it's not unusual to have your metabolism slow down to that of a speed bump...something has GOT to give! I don't want it to be going 3 sizes larger in a year! Since I no longer walk around during work like I used to I can't allow things to get out of "control". Watching calories is not enough and this program starts you out on 2,000 calories a day or more. So eat well, leave off the chips and junk and you will be fine...do as much as you can...no pain, no gain is for idiots! Work your way through it and just moving will get you there...so what if it takes 6 months...if you don't do it where will you be in 6 months?

wooo hooo!!! just finished plyometrics... OMG, felt like somebody was sticking two nordic broadswords into my thighs and twisting them.. YES IT HURT, but I made it.  These exercises are 1 hour a night with ample warm up and cool down stages, plus water breaks in between.

my wife and i are doing this by the BOOK!  we have totally revamped our nutritional intake based upon the programs requirements.  Minor tweaks here and there to it, but I tell ya, I eat all day long.  My original intake as calculated was !!! 3200 CALORIES  !!! well, to make a long story short, NO FRICKEN WAY.. that was way too much.  We knocked it down to 2400 per day, while monitoring our servings like a wall street trader does his bathroom breaks.  so, no slippage there.  All pop and chips are gone and have been gone, no junk food in the house PERIOD.  I have to change.. my life depends on it.

thank you all for your kind words of support.  now.. for a shower and begin wondering how i will walk around tomorrow without crutches or a walker to aid me. :D

how often do you have to do it? (every day, x nights a week, etc).

The thing is, i like going to the gym (as opposed to working out at home)...im thinking there has to be a way to incorporate it into my workouts.
