Hi everyone! Just got a rebuilt 69 440 from a member here. Here is my set up so far for my 68. Looking for advice, comments. 69 440 stock rods, piston, crank. New seals and rings.  assy only had roughly 50k orig miles no bore work was done.. Mopar purple cam/lifters  p/n p4286677 , rebuilt heads with 3-angle valve job. Doug 1 3/4 headers 2.5" H-pipes through flowmaster 50s.. Edle performer intake (also have the RPM intake) 750 edle carb.petronix elec distributor.MSD 6al, 727 tranns with shift kit (stock converter) and 8 3/4 with 3.91 sure grip. How am I looking? What HP/TQ numbers am I looking at?

I wouldn't be qualified to guess but you could search in your area for a chassis dyno and get rwhp figures.  It would be fun too.

370-400  horse  may be , 480 foot lbs at the crank may be   :shruggy: :popcrn:  stock magnum was 350  , according to a stock type rebuild a mopar mag done years back  :o , although it was rated at 375 ,  :shruggy: :scratchchin: :popcrn:

The Mopar purple cam/lifters  p/n p4286677...  how does that idle? smooth, or slight "lump"?

Your cam is mild. Should run fine like a stock car.

my desktop dyno spit out - 399hp @ 5000rpm  /  504 tq @ 3000rpm

Alright.. That sounds good.  Just a nice cruiser with a little rumble. Cant wait to drop it in there

Alright..going to have the motor dissassembled and relubed double checked .. But now I want a more "fun" cam... What are some recommendtions.... The comp xe series 274?  Maybe the mopar 284/484  or  292/509?

Ron on this site helped me with my build. I wanted a nice driver that had a nice lope and could run my factory air. Gave him the particulars of the car and he helped out. Firefigher is his "handle".

I build an engine similar to yours for a customer once and I ran the K58 / K60 lobes on a 110lsa...    Made for a nice street engine -
