Breather cleaning?

Hey guys. you know those original black breathers we sometimes still have on our cars.

Is there a good way to get the insides of those all cleaned out?

These things are pretty old and I'm just curious if this needs to be done at some point and how.

I will not replace it with an aftermarket one. Thats just not happening but I'm concerned.

Any inputs?

I would think some carb cleaner??

Arent they just like a coarse steel wool material inside?

Carb cleaner and a little compressed air with a rag to catch the spray should work.

yeah what the others said & or submerge it in  laqure thinner for a few days  ,  , prolly need painting black again ,
