Nice!  No doubt an open field when they were laid to rest.

What is the fifth pic?

Cooter

Have no idea..I shot it cause it was so strange lookin' I figured somebody would get a kick outta it.. :2thumbs:

When was the last time you saw an inline 6 Pontiac with OHC and what looks to be a timing belt? (Pic 22-23)

Cool pics :2thumbs: thanks for sharing.

There was a junkyard about 20 minutes from me that had alot of old muscle cars (alot were mopars) I think the owner passed away, anyways all the cars are gone now, and everything has been cleared off and cleaned up. Hard to find junkyards that still have alot of classic stuff around.

Yep.  If urban sprawl didn't get them, the price of scrap did.  To bad.  I enjoy these much more than a car museum.

More pics please.

Sucks, cause the only two Chargers the guy had there were a '68 and a '69 and both were horrible...I didn't even make it over to them cause I couldn't bear to see the empty spot where they sat ever since I first set foot in this yard back in High School in 1987, when I was about 16 Y/O...

Most of the cars I remember have all been crushed..This yard is around 100 Acres, and I was dealing with the "old man" before he died and now his son has been running it for the past 18 or 19 years...Both cats are/were pretty good on pricing..

I'm gonna puke. Most of that stuff I don't really care much about but seeing those Cudas and Challengers... :rotz:

So how do you go about restoring an old 50's mopar, when you're not likely to get replacement parts? must be hard.

Simple........You make everything and when you can't make it, you go to someone who can....LOL nah, it isn't any harder to do than any other antique car...The only drawback is, there isn't places like AMD makin' BRAND new fenders for the 50's Chrysler products..

That single headlight Dodge is a rare piece.  Wasn't it only available for one year, and only in California or something?

Those Challengers and Cudas though... so sad.

Cool find though.

I know it's weird but I love to walk around the junkyard just to look at the cars, even if I don't need a part.

Could I please use those pictures for my website? :) Anybody notice the '70 Roadrunner has the dash missing and it looks like someone messed with the radiator support.... :scratchchin:

What REALLY broke my heart was that RR had an "F--440--HP" engine in it with a 4-speed and Dana I think....Engine would proly have to go out .090 to clean up as some idiot pulled the driver's side head and left it...4 gear and rear were gone, as were the pedals and hump..IF you use these pics, please do not mention or give ANY idea where they might have come from...The owner of the yard wasn't too keen about pics being taken....Just post and that's it..OK?
