Bump.

Hey Volk, I TOLD you we would pull out the upset against the Chargers. ;D

I am taking your advice on the 'Fins from now on ;D

I loved every minute of that game.  Such a turnaround late season I never thought possible.  Isn't this the team that's supposed to suck in December?

69_500

Well it is a team that in the past 10 years hasn't played well on the road in December. Seems the NFL always schedules them home games in September, where they typically go 3-1 or 4-0 and then on the road in December where they typically go 1-3 or 0-4.

That's what's so encouraging about this year.  If the Dolphins win at least one more game this month (perhaps two), then it looks like we might actually be moving away from the dreaded December death spiral.  Give Saban a couple more drafts, and this could very well be the next powerhouse team.  The AFC East is way better than they have looked this year, and Miami has owned the AFC West this season.  Barring injury, I am really excited about the possibilities for this team next year.

Now, Saban...GIVE US A REAL QB!

Da' Bills need some Viagra....

I think we will do better in a few years. Danahoe's contract is up in 2006 and mularkey's is up in 2008... so maybe after some new managment the Bills wil do better

Do any of you other Dolphins fans have an explination as to why we haven't pursued any QB's in the the free agency since say 1998. Only talented QB they went out and signed was Griese. And then they bench him in favor of Fielder. Which to me was a crap move.

I said the first time that Drew Bledsoe came up for free agency that they should have pursued him. Great arm, yeah he makes some mistakes, but he can beat you with just his arm and his arm alone. He can stand back there and pass, and even if you know he is going to throw, he can thread the needle. They passed on him then, and then they pass on him again this year. Look at the seasons he had in Buffalo and then now in Dallas.

Another aging QB that was available was Kurt Warner. Another gun slinger, who with their receivers and RB's could have made their offense very effective. I'd feel much better with either one of those 2 QB's throwing the ball 40 times in a game than I do Sage Rossenfield, or Gus .

I always thought that Griese sucked. :-\

The problem was coaching philosophy.  There has always been a belief that we were better than we actually were.  Every coach felt that they could add one or two players and win it all right now.  Jimi believed this could be done with a strong D, since he already had a great QB.  Wanny inherited a very good D, but had a terrible QB experience in Chicago.  When the time came to create the offense, he decided a power running game was far more important than a good QB.  Unfortunately for Dave, his drafting skills were horrendous all the way around, and he gave up our number 1's for Ricky, effectively removing the ability to land a top QB prospect.  He then botched drafting in the lower rounds, believing one more player would take him to the superbowl.  The sad thing is, in the end, bad luck finished Dave off.  The year Ricky led the league in rushing, the Dolphins were a very legit superbowl threat...then Fiedler went down, and Dave's lack of talent scouting exposed Ray Lucas as a complete fraud of a backup.  End result, the team misses its window, Ricky gets overused and quits, and Saban is now left to pick up the pieces.

The positive to all this is that Saban KNOWS he cannot win it all now.  He fully expects to need 2-3 years to stock the team with the players he needs, and new GM Randy Mueller believes in taking a QB in EVERY draft.  We may labor under a has been for another year or two, but rest assured, there will be a hot QB prospect on the roster next year, and if the right guy can't be drafted this year, expect an aggressive move for someone like Phillip Rivers or David Carr.  Finally, the future looks bright in Miami once again  :icon_smile_cool:

Yes the Chiefs beat the Dolphins but the Dophins are 3-1 against the AFC West this year. So how tough can it be. :) JK

Hey Volk my Chefs SPANKED the fins this year.  I wouldn't say the AFC West is a pushover, actually one of the toughest divisions in football,IMO.

That's true, but I wouldn't be so quick to dismiss the fact that they were preparing for a significant hurricane at the time, either.  Add in the fact that the 'Fins had almost no one in attendance at the game because of the storm, and it wasn't a very good game for comparison.  Two of your AFC West powerhouses were spanked in their own houses, and the third was utterly humiliated on opening day.  We will see just how tough the West is come playoff time :yesnod:

Don't look now but it's December and Tom Brady and the Pats are coming together.....

What a beating they put on the Bucs today.

I'm anxiously awaiting the game, and even if it's only half as good as it was last year, it'll still be a damn good game.

:2thumbs:  Congrats to the Fins.  I didn't get to watch the game, but obviously they haven't thrown in the towel.  Hell I seen they were in the race this morning yet.

I had to work all day, so I missed the game, but it's good we got a little revenge for our loss against the Jets earlier in the season.

Also, did I hear correctly?  Did the Colts actually LOSE? :o

Yes Sir, the colts did lose. And the Dolphins won. Before the season started I said they would be 6-10 or 7-9 at best. Looks like I was off, I think they are going to be 8-8. Possibly even 9-7. I think they will win next week, and  then we will see in the last week against the Pats. See how many of the Pats will play, since they will have nothing wo gain or lose in that week.
