One helluva comeback, wasn't it?  Great game.

Oh, and to all you Bill's fans out there.....

HAHA! :P

69_500

Yeah it was nice comeback. My only question was, with 1:06 left in the game and 1st and goal at the 1 yard line. Why don't you RUN THE BALL IN. Yes they came back and won, but why did they abandon the RUNNING game so early. I think Ronnie Brown only wound up with like 7 carries, and Rickey had like 11. They should be giving those guys both about 15 carries a game, and controling the clock.

volk68

That was incredible :o  I didn't think it was possible without Marino at the helm.  The funny thing was, I was so disgusted by the first half that I almost turned it off...something I have never done with a Dolphins game.  I swear, they played like a JV squad through the first half and most of the third 1/4.  I paused it on my Tivo and came back to it (I am a glutten for punishment) only to see Gus get knocked out.  I believe I let out an audible groan when Sage came in...boy was I wrong!  What an awesome comeback.  Chris Chambers had over 230 yards receiving  :o

They better not open the game that poorly next week, or San Diego is just going to dominate them.  I bet they run LT to the edge on Sam Madison's side of the D all day...he hates to tackle...and yes, they need to run Ronnie and Ricky more...Ronnie is the 8th leading rusher in the NFL with 4.7 yards per carry and Ricky's average is almost as high.

golden73

I am absolutely disgusted with the Bills.

After watching that game, I do not think I will be able to root for the bills anymore, let alone watch them.

Normally I hate all Bill's fans equally, but since you are a charger devotee, I will make an exception ;)  If it's any consolation, I know how you feel.  I felt that way after the Monday night miracle when the Jet's did the same thing to us.  I felt that way when the Browns shut the 'Fins out two weeks ago.  It's rough being a diehard fan :icon_smile_blackeye:

You mean the 'Fins won!!!???

Good goggly goo..............  I was so wrapped up in my Longhorns I was totally disinterested in my 'Fins.....  Go figure...

Because Saban is an idiot, and likes to complicate things. ::)

You don't think the Bills layed down after the first 1/4 do ya??   21 - ZERO

The Bills did just as they have been doing all year. Come out hard and lay down wet... I haven't been very happy with them all year..

Now the Bucs on the other hand. Hehehehehehe..............  On the road!!!!! :icon_smile_cool:

And how about Dungy and his mob of monsters??????  12&0

Wow and here all this time I never knew that Troy was a Dolphins fan too.

I still don't think the Colts will run the table. It would make for an interesting story, but I don't see them doing it. I think they will be 15-1 entering the playoffs. And if they have to play the Bengals again  this year, I say watch out.

Me???  I was wheened on Don Shula.. I remember my Dad yelling and screaming during the '70-'74 seasons.. I remember going to games and seeing the "No name Defense", Larry Csonka, Paul Warfield, Bob Griese and all those dudes... Hopefully that doesn't date me........  I may not live and breath them as much as I used to since I don't live in South Florida any more, but, in the spirit of a true fan, they're my team through thick and thin......

I don't know.  If they don't lose this week, I think they'll pull it off.

Steve are you asking if 12-0 means anything? No it really doesn't. To me once you get to a 12-0 or something like that your season is just starting. Now it is required for that team to WIN the Super Bowl, not just get to the Super Bowl but win it. I mean how much of a let down would it be to go 16-0 and then get beat in the playoffs or SuperBowl.

69_500

Oh and Troy, yeah hearing you talk about being around for the 70-74 seasons definately dates you. I wasn't born until 78.  :icon_smile_tongue:

So I guess being 12 & 0 just means you suck!  Making it to the big game also means you suck!!

You are only worth a polished turd if you are the winner of the ring, RIGHT??  ::)

69_500

I never said being 12-0 sucks. Never said that if they don't win the SuperBowl would make them suck. All I was saying is that it would tarnish the excitment around going 16-0 if they lost in the SuperBowl then.

But to be quite frank yeah Winning the Superbowl is what makes everyone notice a team. That is true. How many people noticed the 84 Dolphins when they went 12-0 to start the season, finsihed it 15-1 I believe but lost to the 49ers in the SuperBowl that year?

And me being born in 1978 explains what? Explains that I cheer for a team that hasn't ever won a Championhip in my lifetime. Yeah i"ll admit it, that is dissapointing, but then again I love my teams. Love the Dolphins in football and the Mariners in baseball. Started cheering for both at the same age, and not a single one of them had produced a Championship for me. As a matter of fact very few times in my childhood did the Mariners win more than 60-70 games. But I'll stick with my teams.

Steve P.

Born in 78' isn't a bad thing.. Nor is 12 & 0!  The Bills went to the big game about 4 times in a row and never won. That doesn't make them SUCK. It  IS just DISAPPOINTING!!!!!!

I was born in 61' and have been a BILLS fan since I can remember. However, I have been pissed at the management ever since they screwed Flutie 4 or 5 seasons ago.. They have not been able to get their collective heads out of their asses ever since.. (What comes around), ya know!!

I have lived in Florida for about 12 years now and for about 8 of them I've been rooting for Tampa.. I am a Dungy fan..

Two games back of the Pats and all but eliminated.

Next year, they're going to be better, for sure.

Man, does Buffalo suck or what? The supposed "best runningback in the league" McGahee was out-rushed by Tom Brady on Sunday.

What a marroon.

Steve P.

I hear you NH,,, but what about them BUCS?? ?? ?? ?? ??    They were sure bet out to be the ten to one under dog.... Vegas lost a pile of green stamps on that game.

Alright by me.  Thank you Fins.  It would have been nice if my team could have capitalized by the Chargers losing, but they decided to lose too. :flame:

69_500

Man and for one week in the fatasy league i didn't pick the Dolphins to pull out the upset victory and they do it. In another league i'm in, where you pick against the spread I picked them to cover so at least I wasn't completely off. Still confused as to why they don't RUN the ball. Then again what did they have 34 offensive plays this week? To San Diego's 70+ plays?

I am taking your advice on the 'Fins from now on ;D

I loved every minute of that game.  Such a turnaround late season I never thought possible.  Isn't this the team that's supposed to suck in December?

69_500

Well it is a team that in the past 10 years hasn't played well on the road in December. Seems the NFL always schedules them home games in September, where they typically go 3-1 or 4-0 and then on the road in December where they typically go 1-3 or 0-4.

That's what's so encouraging about this year.  If the Dolphins win at least one more game this month (perhaps two), then it looks like we might actually be moving away from the dreaded December death spiral.  Give Saban a couple more drafts, and this could very well be the next powerhouse team.  The AFC East is way better than they have looked this year, and Miami has owned the AFC West this season.  Barring injury, I am really excited about the possibilities for this team next year.

Now, Saban...GIVE US A REAL QB!

Do any of you other Dolphins fans have an explination as to why we haven't pursued any QB's in the the free agency since say 1998. Only talented QB they went out and signed was Griese. And then they bench him in favor of Fielder. Which to me was a crap move.

I said the first time that Drew Bledsoe came up for free agency that they should have pursued him. Great arm, yeah he makes some mistakes, but he can beat you with just his arm and his arm alone. He can stand back there and pass, and even if you know he is going to throw, he can thread the needle. They passed on him then, and then they pass on him again this year. Look at the seasons he had in Buffalo and then now in Dallas.

Another aging QB that was available was Kurt Warner. Another gun slinger, who with their receivers and RB's could have made their offense very effective. I'd feel much better with either one of those 2 QB's throwing the ball 40 times in a game than I do Sage Rossenfield, or Gus .

The problem was coaching philosophy.  There has always been a belief that we were better than we actually were.  Every coach felt that they could add one or two players and win it all right now.  Jimi believed this could be done with a strong D, since he already had a great QB.  Wanny inherited a very good D, but had a terrible QB experience in Chicago.  When the time came to create the offense, he decided a power running game was far more important than a good QB.  Unfortunately for Dave, his drafting skills were horrendous all the way around, and he gave up our number 1's for Ricky, effectively removing the ability to land a top QB prospect.  He then botched drafting in the lower rounds, believing one more player would take him to the superbowl.  The sad thing is, in the end, bad luck finished Dave off.  The year Ricky led the league in rushing, the Dolphins were a very legit superbowl threat...then Fiedler went down, and Dave's lack of talent scouting exposed Ray Lucas as a complete fraud of a backup.  End result, the team misses its window, Ricky gets overused and quits, and Saban is now left to pick up the pieces.

The positive to all this is that Saban KNOWS he cannot win it all now.  He fully expects to need 2-3 years to stock the team with the players he needs, and new GM Randy Mueller believes in taking a QB in EVERY draft.  We may labor under a has been for another year or two, but rest assured, there will be a hot QB prospect on the roster next year, and if the right guy can't be drafted this year, expect an aggressive move for someone like Phillip Rivers or David Carr.  Finally, the future looks bright in Miami once again  :icon_smile_cool:

Yes the Chiefs beat the Dolphins but the Dophins are 3-1 against the AFC West this year. So how tough can it be. :) JK

Hey Volk my Chefs SPANKED the fins this year.  I wouldn't say the AFC West is a pushover, actually one of the toughest divisions in football,IMO.

That's true, but I wouldn't be so quick to dismiss the fact that they were preparing for a significant hurricane at the time, either.  Add in the fact that the 'Fins had almost no one in attendance at the game because of the storm, and it wasn't a very good game for comparison.  Two of your AFC West powerhouses were spanked in their own houses, and the third was utterly humiliated on opening day.  We will see just how tough the West is come playoff time :yesnod:

Yes Sir, the colts did lose. And the Dolphins won. Before the season started I said they would be 6-10 or 7-9 at best. Looks like I was off, I think they are going to be 8-8. Possibly even 9-7. I think they will win next week, and  then we will see in the last week against the Pats. See how many of the Pats will play, since they will have nothing wo gain or lose in that week.
