Are all the flip top gas cap/trim rings the same from '68-'70? If not, what are the differences? Are the ones used on '70 Challengers the same?
Is anyone reproducing these?

trim rings are the same for 68-70 chargers.  The only difference in the cap is that the center on the 68s is brushed vs. the black area and fuel word for 69-70.  The fuel cap and trim ring is also different compared to the challengers and chargers since they challengers had a different mounting area and the trim ring was not as wide.

Does anyone have any pictures to show the differences? Maybe a side by side comparision?

A follow up question.....Is the Challenger fuel cap the same as the Charger?  Or does it open backwards so to speak??  I'm asking because I'm pondering the idea of putting dual fuel caps.   Ace

The Challenger Flip top cap is a completly different animal.
68 Charger R/t white with black v/t and red tailstripe. 440 4 speed ,black interior
68 383 auto with a/c and power windows. Now 440 4 speed jj1 gold black interior .
My Charger is a hybrid car, it burns gas and rubber............

TylerCharger69

the cap itself APPEARS to be the same...only backwards....I know the trim rings are different though.....so couldn't the Challenger cap be incorporated onto a Charger trim ring??  I know the quarter would have to be modified to match the other too.....

Tyler, you could try but since we have a 70 chally and my charger, there is a quite noticeable difference between the two caps.  The charger has  flat bottom to it while the challenger has 4 rounded bump outs where the screws would get mounted to it.
